Hey all you bboys, bgirls, dancers, gymnasts, cheerleaders, crazy athletic ppl, or just normal ppl who are awesome..

Can any of you do a standing backflip? i heard you need..a lot of balls, practice, and perfect form. But most people have trouble overcoming the biological mental barrier which prevents a human from doing backflips because of the possible danger of landing on ur neck and paralyzing urself for life...=_=

Any tips/suggestions/stories?

haha u cud get a spotter...so it wont be as scary. or do it on something soft like a trampeline (but make sure it has a fence thing around it cuz i saw some videos..that didn't end pretty) =P i think it just takes determination and overcoming fears

i used to be able to do backflips and front flips and cartwheels and all sorts of flips... some on the balance beam... some on the ground... some in mid air!

But i grew up... started doing drugs and stopped giving a shit how i could twist my body around... however i'm still really flexible.

The basic thing to deal with for backflips... is momentum... if you have enough momentum, you can flip over no problem... just make sure you have enough shoulder and upper arm strength if you're going for a straight backflip...

Front flips are an easier way to start if you have the fear of breaking your neck...

Try it on a mat or with a spotter the first few times..

The first flip is the scariest!

lol, i tried it on a trampoline, i cracked both sides of my ribs, not crack as in fractured, like crack like popping ur fingers, but urmm, the technique with the trampoline is when u jump, curl into a a ball with ur legs together, u can see when u land, make sure u got ur eyes open, its earsier than a front flip cuz u cant see, but yeah, a back flip is all mental, after i cracked my ribs, i got up and did it again, lol, then i can do it now, all i need to do now is learn it on regular floors, lol

Yeah I can do backflips. It's not all that exciting. It can be fun if you have a wide, open space. Otherwise it's just scary. People have had me do them in a classroom before and I nearly busted my head open.
