I've been looking for good comedies for a while, and since I've gone through a lot of animes lately, I will probably review them at a later date, but since this was the most recent one I've enjoyed, this will be my spring-board into a writing streak^^

On the holiday just before the Valentines Day, Kohinata Yuma is called by his bad friend Watarase Jun to buy chocolate with her. Since that day, his fate begins to change.

He happens to meet Kamisaka Haruhi, a school idol as well as the genius girl in magical course at the park, and she gives him a chocolate. Then, because of the mysterious collapse of the school building of magical course, Haruhi transfers to the same class of Yuma, and his troublesome school days is getting worse.

Hiiragi Anri - She has a feeling of competition against Haruhi, and she is called “Walking Disaster Slinkier”.
Komine Koyuki - Her eccentric act always embarrasses or surprises others.
Kohinata Sumomo - She is his sister-in-law. She is steady, but she is sometimes airhead.

Furthermore, his bad friends Hach , Jun, and a mysterious transfer student acceralate his fate..

Aside from the background, I felt the plot was neatly presented. Though this was originally an adult visual novel game, I felt it did a good job becoming an anime (though I've never gone through the game), I can't exactly say what this reminds me of, but it isn't dissimilar from most comedies; though I can't say it feels like a cliche either.

There's a nice progressive character development, it's not to deep but it gives it well enough to keep the plot going. With that being said, the characters aren't shallow either. I usually don't give much praise without a boatload of critical comments, I like poking holes and ridiculing, but there isn't much I didn't like. Every episode was enjoyable, and the OVA was hilarious as well; even though it was only 12 episodes, I felt they did a good job not wasting time with needless "filler" that really was intended to just fill up air time with useless scenes that were neither funny, nor assisted plot development, neither did they leave out information that would have otherwise made the story confusing.

Clear cut, simple, elegant, and organized. I had a good kick out of just watching it, I felt it was a nice comedy... and since it didn't feel unnatural as to how everything rolled out, I totally recommend this for just a good fun watch. With 12ep+1ova, you can watch this well within a day. On a side note, I did pick this anime up on a good day, so I might revisit this anime in the future, and maybe finally poke holes at it...

Alright, were to start. So many underlying things happen throughout this anime that it is hard to realize that it is those things which actually make up the story. So, to begin with, you simply must pay attention. Now, on to the meat of it. The show is funny... end of story.

In complete agreeance with Space, the show is clean and simply put together, well organized and does not lack in development, either that of the plot nor that of the characters themselves. With little to no filler either, the story-line is progressive in nature, carefully taking the time to address holes, gaps and background and leading the viewer through a linear track to completeness. However, I must say that I am a little disappointed with the shear obviousness of some things that very well could have made the story better had they been more carefully hidden until just the right moment.

Despite this though, the series did have a happy ending that was both suiting as well as fulfilling. Even the OVA played very well with the show, which is something I have found to be a rarity. I must point out though, that despite the well developed character development, good background and plot thickness, the corner stone to this anime is the comedy. As such... the show is funny... end of story.

ajpointless and Spacewolves already said many of what needed to be said, Happiness! is well-made, funny and has character development other anime should take after. It's good enough that one would want to whine about how short it is, but wouldn't since that would mean adding fillers, which has already shown how much it can lower an anime's value.

Also, at one point in time, I was under the impression that good magical girl anime needed yuri in it, like with Cardcaptor Sakura and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, but was pleasantly surprised with how Happiness! turned out even without yuri.
