Interesting

Othello, anyone?

Ehhh Othello was realistic in the way people jump to conclusions, and the power of manipulation/jealousy, but I didn't really like it. I guess it's because through out the whole play everyone is so illogical, and if they would just check their facts or have faith in who they should have faith in then the whole mess would be avoided XD. Good example of how humans really are, but irritating in that way too. My favorite character was Emilia :)!

Oh I thought Othello was fascinating because of how ugly it showed it people capable of being, as well as how much we can hurt our loved ones over such trivial things. I think it's charm is in the fact that it demonstrates how illogical and irrational humans are capable of being. Iago was marvelous. Kind of the next step in the evolution of Don John the Bastard from Much Ado About Nothing, the whole villain without motivation (though Iago did have some motivation, though it spiraled out of control). I was able to see it performed live which also helps considerabley in my oppinion.

Iago has tons of motivation, just no solid facts to base it on. I'd say Iago was my second favorite character, because he was amazingly insightful and sly. He actually says one of my favorite quotes,
"We cannot all be masters, nor all masters
Cannot be truly followed."

I'm reviving this thread since the first episode has finally been released and subbed.

After finishing the first episode, it's safe to say I'll definitely be watching the rest. :)

D: But, good God, the OP. You Raise Me Up is bad enough in English; I don't want to be subjected to a Japanese version as well. 12012 makes up for it, though, with the ED. ^_^

I hated the play, but the anime is actually really good so far.

Seeing as how it's Romeo and Juliet, yes.

If the sword set you off, I can't imagine how you'd react to the pegasi.

Im so sick of their story. They think theyre in love after seeing each once... sleep together and apaprently that's enough to kill each other over ? it's gonna be the same old crap with a little anime flare.

OMG DID YOU KNOW THEY DIE? oshi- i just ruined it all for you.

oh and

Isn't Basilisk a Romeo & Juliet anime?

Why would we need another?

Cause maybe this time this anime will do Romeo and Juliet justice?

Basilisk was an amazing anime and story...It didn't make me think of romeo and juliet once. Clans/families were feudal. People fall in love and die.

Im just annoyed with it being romeo and juliet. It's been done enough already.
