the only thing that kept me watching this anime is when will his sis(girl-- freind) know that he is eyeshield...n that on eps 80 something... but after that i loss interest in this anime.. why? way way way exagirated... i would like it if they make it more realistic( ya i played football n it was fun...except if u got hurt n knowing that injury in permanent)
n some games are really boring...

Plot Summary from Anime News Network:

Kobayakawa Sena is a little guy who always get picked on by the bullies in school. Since elementary school, he always play the role of the 'errand boy' to the extent that he has become swift and fast in his movements. Coincidentally, Hiruma Youichi and Kurita Ryukan are looking for a fast running back for their American Football team (Amefuto) and want to put Sena in the team. To hide their new 'star' player from the eyes of other High Schools, Hiruma encases Sena in a Amefuto helmet with a dark visor and name him Eyeshield #21.
The protagonist of the series is Sena Kobaykawa, a shy kid with a light physique, he is a first year at Deimon Senior High, since kindergarden he has always been the gopher of the bullies at school, to the point that he's gotten really swift and fast. Hiruma, a demon-like quarterback and Kurita, good natured lineman are the only guys on the American Football team (Deimon Devil Bats) and are desperately trying to make people join the team. After Hiruma sees Sena's running he is made join the team and becomes Eyeshield 21, wearing an eyeshield helmet to protect his identity from other teams he becomes known as "the mysterious hero from Notre Dame". In his second game he should meet his rival, Seijuro Shin, who is known as the fastest linebacker in the history of japanese football. Eventually more people will join and strengthen the team. By overcoming fears and challenges Deimon plans to win the fall tournament and beat all the teams in the kanto area.

Review:
I was actually just looking for an anime to waste some time while Im bored and waiting for new episodes of the other animes Im watching when I began to watch Eye Shield 21. It surprised me greatly, 1 that its a japanese anime about American Football and 2 it has a pretty good storyline to it, and I haven't gotten bored of it.
Another thing is, the story and games are realistic, there aren't that many miracles, the team does lose.
Between commerical segments they actually teach you about the game, and during sideline comments they throw in helpful hits for those who don't know about American Football. I live in the U.S. and didn't really get into football too much, but after watching this Ive actually gained alot of info on football that I never knew before.
No it doesn't have huge plot twisters and massive hardcore graphics, but its a perfect pick me up anime and it does have some amazing twists here and there. The action segments are also very awsome, for a football anime they throw just enough to keep you interested, but not too much that your like, wtf that could never happen. Negatively sometimes they throw in some characters that come out of no where but eventually they bring up their background story little by little. Background story isn't very important in this anime.

This series isn't actually complete yet so I cant give a complete review. I haven't read the manga either so thats out of the question lol.

I LOVE (...lovelovelove) this anime. Just like that review from anime news network, I was bored waiting for the new bleach/naruto manga, so I was just searching around, said 'Hey, I've heard of this, might as well check it out.' I never thought that I would get hooked to a sports manga. But it's true, it is a very realistic anime that's not always about the miracle players that always win in the end, even though new players emerge that seem to be invincible. Knowing about the game of football is not necessary. Thanks to this show, I know how you should catch a ball, carry a ball, kick a field goal, and the rules of the game (doesn't mean that I can actually do it ^_^;) But the characters and the jokes are very memorable. Now I wait every week for the new manga chapter for this series also.

BTW, sorry, I'm not very good at doing review, at least official ones. This is just me expressing my fangirly joy.
