well, i think it's a good anime and the main guy has an okay role. but i don't like it when guys like him fall for sissy and girly girls. i mean, all the other girl characters were much better than the one he fell for. it's like a typical story when they start out as friends and one later on falls for the other

Alrighty then! I LOVE (love love love love love love) this show, it is pure quality in every sense.

So, for those who were unaware of the connections, this show is done by the same people that created the *wonderful* shows Kanon 2006, and Air. The first being a remake of an earlier anime, and both having been adapted from dating games. Both were beautifully crafted successes, visually and emotionally enveloping the audience with their many arc-ed layers. CLANNAD is now the next step!

So far, this project is INCREDIBLE!!! It's just so beautiful! xD I mean, the previous projects had great art, too, but you can see that the people really know what they're doing when they advance to the next show! They learn and keep getting better!
The music is also expertly integrated into the animation along with the standard OP/ED. It feels so wonderful when in the first episode, after the crescendo of music leading to the meeting of the main female character, you listen to the ending song and find they're one and the same. It really gives the ending song a meaning to it that it wouldn't have had had that moment not carried it to a special place your heart.
The storyline is successfully layered to keep you wondering and excited for the next moment, led by wonderfully crafted characters. The characters are surprising; we don't have the same old boring characters with the same old boring, predictable tendencies. The lead man isn't some tacky old fart, either, as we seem to keep getting. He's stronger and more independent, sullen but a good sense of humor. The women don't keep pulling him around without his consent to push him into things he can't help but do because he's just a nice guy. Nope, I love Tomoya.
And the comedy ..... is f**king brilliant. What else can I say?

Really, I am a hardcore fan of Kanon, but with what i have seen so far....Clannad has already surpassed the almighty Kanon. It's that AWESOME of a show!!!!! EVERYONE MUST SEE!!! IT IS THE ESSENCE OF AWESOMENESS!!!

I have to say... though I was wrong about when Clannad hasn't ended on EP22... I was really just wishing I was right... I guess I'm somewhat disappointed in the ending, sadly to say...

Heres why: I watched the movie right before the anime ended... And I really liked the ending. For those who haven't watched it... Maybe you should, maybe you shouldn't...
Yes I was rooting for Nagisa the entire time, but just to be united to one another with a history that wasn't as deep as it could be... It just doesn't complete Clannad very well for me. Another moot point for me was how Nagisa had been the other in the dream of Tomoya. It didn't play out very well in the anime... it didn't feel like a significant point as opposed to the movie where it felt like they finally found each other.

*sigh* From my perspective, maybe watching the movie wasn't such a great idea, cause now the anime series didn't live up to my expectations. I really thought that it was going to play out better, though the OVA may include the final piece of the puzzle... I'm somewhat disappointed I have to say...

I really like the story and plot, but again, I felt the movie did a better job. Even in the opening theme song in the anime series, you could see Ushio, and Nagisa collapsed in the snow... where as we're probably not gona see that in the series... *sigh* I guess this is my first rant in a review...

to everyone else, I hope you enjoyed it, if anything, more than I did... This really is a good anime, but for me to overlook some of the events... It's just kinda hard...

Hopefully KyoAni will announce the sequel to the series or at least an OVA next week, instead of announcing new title or suzumiya. They really should animate the After Story Arc.I am not touched by the last arc,and it giave me the "bleh" feeling. The best arc by far is Fuuko's arc

Tomoya Okazaki is a third year student labeled as a delinquent. Everything seems to be unchanging for his school life until he meets Nagisa, and then Tomoya finds that his life is about to change. He starts to have dreams of a bleak world and meets a girl who has the ability to fuse junk together in order to create things, and in doing so, creates a body out of junk for him. He is then reborn into this empty world and follows around the girl, the only two existences who are "alive."

First, let me start by saying that the description listed seems to be a little misleading to the actual show, simply because it fully explain the relationships between the two worlds... and neither has the show itself... yet.

Despite this, this series is an absolute roller coaster! It starts off a little misleading, confusing and even a little schizophrenic at times; then, gets very, very funny with a happy tone, great character relationships and interactions; then it becomes very sad and quite emotional. Without even missing a beat, this circle starts all over again, and again. The music and animation styles even play off these, what seems like, methodical ups and downs, which only increases the overall effect the story has on the audience. The complexity seems to increase as well as the plot is further developed and the story-line revels more and more. It is very well written due to the fact that it has the effect of making the audience actually feel for the characters. All in all, these things make the show an absolute joy to watch, and one can only hope that there is a happy ending in the end, one where all the sad things are resolved in the best possible way. It is a must see and is highly recommended!
