you're like my friend, she gets really worked up when she reads our work and finds the commas are under, over or not used. it gets kinda annoying when she gets like that.

I have read an essay about people who are concious about the usage of punctuations. The essay indicated that these people are called "stickler" (please correct me if I am wrong). Well, I may be a stickler for some times but not all the times.

It's because people nowadays are so used to "text" English that maybe they already probably forget how to use the correct grammar, punctuations, (or comma's) etc. I tend to overuse it, I don't know why...

Reading through people’s post, I can’t help but wonder. Why, why is it so hard to use a comma? They are always underused, overused, or just completely neglected. I mean seriously! Hey, Crer look! A comma!

So, let’s ask a ninja.

Okay, no, let’s be serious now. Why do you think it is so hard for people to completely learn how to use a comma? Most people, including myself, screw up with them occasionally. (Mind you, the Goddess of irony follows me around; therefore, I am bound to screw up in this very thread.)

Does it bother you when people screw up with commas? I kind of find it hard to read things that have no punctuation, but there is a new ‘genre’ of book coming out where they ignore it. The theory is that by ignoring commas, semicolons, and various other grammar tools the novels/porno mags/comic books/ mangas will simulate the sensation of listening to a conversation.

So what about me? Well, honestly, I’m bothered by the lack of commas. They are very useful and not only make sentences easier to understand, but also make sentences much more fun to read. Then again, people also say that about using real words, which is obviously incorrect because…I mean…Jabberwocky!

Interesting and i agree but i take issue more with people typing in text-speak in forums, which makes it difficult to read.

sometimes commas do help me understand the sentence, but most of the time, i really don't care. what annoys me is the lack of apostrophes. and i acctually never learnt to use semicolons.

Omg, thanks for bringing this up..honestly. Many peeps out there don't use commas and only they know what they're talking abt.

I've learnt something from the ninja.
