This is partly true. For one thing, homosexuality is not a mental illness and people do not CHOOSE to be homosexuals..I mean what kind of idiot would think that ? I'm attracted males, which makes me a heterosexual and I did not choose to be straight. -.-

Being gay is just who you are. It is not genetic, you can't inherit it from a relative. It's not a birth defect, it's just who you are. Not every homosexual person was abused or truamatized as a child (although who knows there may be a few exceptions, however there are straight people who were abused as children) You can't be infulenced to "turn" gay, yes you may be infulence to experiement but that doesn't make you gay especially if you discover you didn't enjoy it. Now if you do discover your gay due to experimenting that doesn't mean you just turned gay, it was something that was always there it just took some time to realize it. As for environment, I never thought about that, but if it is environment then doesn't that mean that everyone in that environment should be gay. Why would that enviroment affect that "one person" but not anybody else in his or her family.

Also with all these homosexual threads that keep coming up started by straight people, maybe some of the gay, lesbian and bi members should start threads speculating about straight people

Lol, I somewhat agree with you. What I'm thinking right now is that probably some heterosexuals who are labeled as "disgusting", are just thinking that we, heterosexuals are "disgusting" as well. You mentioned that people that are classified as in the LGBT group should start threads specualting about straight people.. and I don't that's a great idea because instead of stirring up more hatred based on our sexualities, we should try to become more aware of a sense of equality in all of us. And even if it's a battle between gays and straight people, you should know which side is going to win.

i really don't know, it's not a choice but i'm not sure if it's genetic either.... perhaps it's to do with someone's social background...i dunno. i don't think it matters.

actually in psychology this debate is called the
"Nature vs Nurture" debate. People for instance like Hitler , was he born evil or over time did he develop his hatred.

So to bring that back to sexuality scientist are trying to see if their is a certain code in the genes that creates a persons sexuality to prove the nature theory.
