>>Heres the Sample for D gray man:
>>
>>A world chosen by God with followers of good and evil. The world slowly blackens where God's disciples called "exorcists" saves the world from the "Millenium Earl" from destroying all humans. Known as Noah's great flood.

>>The Excorcists hold immense power called the Innocence where only people gifted with special abilities hold an Innocence in themselves or placed in themselves. Before the Innocence scatters throughout the world there was a total of 109 Innocence. But the "Millenium Earl's job is to eliminate all the innocence and find the innocence heart the most powerful innocence that would destroy the Millenium Earl from its evil deception.
>>
>>But not everything goes smoothly the exorcists has to encounter many dangers caused by "akuma" a demon that possess humans out of sorrow and grieve. Also the "Millenium Earl" isnt alone, The Noah's Clan consist many fighters believed they were the true ones chosen by God. With there power combine with the "Millenium Earl" together they bind together and slowly destroys the world.

Further in this anime you would see Allen Walker the main character of this anime encountering many battle with his fellow comrades including Kanda Yuu, Lavi, and Lenalee. If you want to see how this battle of life and death is going to end, then you must watch D gray man!

Hey guys I've got an Idea
Why don't whatever you feature in your issue be put up in the featured media.
Or you can write about the featured media.
Why don't the senior editor of the onigiri be upgraded to a mod so he/she can edit the featured media?

To Above: Our Editor-in-Chief is a mod.

And i don't think that that's a good idea, as we are not official.. and i don't think we will be one... and if we feature everything in one spot, won't it be difficult for our reader to read.. and this is a CYBERZINE and we will not post it in a thread mode, but in wiki and PDF file...

anyone give better ans please?

^ A better answer: mods don't have any control over the featured media on the front page anyway ^-^. I think having different things is better though; more featured to choose from. Although the onigiri one's can be more usefull in that they aren't always the latest bleach and naruto episodes ^-^

We have a few mods on the team: meiskan, edsamac and jamehze. With wiki help from regarnettk and uchari ^-^

Could I freelance in the "Mini Poetry/Short Stories" Section as well as articles? (not that I'll be terribly prolific).

riana, may you elaborate a little? ... do you want us to write a bit more info on the featured media? i know i write fairly little about the featured music... ..but other features seem to get a fair amount of description..

or do you mean something else?...

This is my application for The Onigiri...but since I just finished going through Issue 4, I thought I'd put out my thoughts on it first. :]

Very nice graphics btw, ;D especially the cover! The splash of colours from the banners really help make the magazine more interesting and lively. Awesome work, TFW. :3

Someone reviewed Murakami! WOO! YAY! ♥ Sexy. I enjoyed most of the "Articles" if not all, which I think means all of them...they were entertaining and informative.

What I think needs improving on is the heavy personal tone of some reviews, and features. It reads more like a personal blog, rather than being informative, choosing to comment on scattered points that stood out and leaving out what the subject is about, and doesn't have a focal point. For anyone who already saw the show, or know about it, would have no problem understanding it, but for the rest of the world, it's confusing and defeats the purpose of a feature or review. As a rule of thumb, if it hasn't already been mentioned in the magazine, the summary of the subject [or at least the general gist of it] should be included into the article. This also includes excessive use of emoticons, it really detracts from the article. No grudge against emotes, o-o I use them all the time.

And we've only really covered media from the "past" and looked at ones at "present", we should also take a step further and try to predict the "future". It can be accomplished in a number of ways like work with CR's own fansubbing team, or look at other fansubbers what's next on the subbing list, so people who don't know the foreign language have something to look forward to, either for something new, or something they've been waiting to be subbed for a long time!

Other than the points mentioned, I think it's wicked there's so much initiative. The Onigiri's improving, so keep up the good work!

And I enjoyed Sota228's game review sample! Very to the point, and informative. :3
I also agree with ailin350 about Chinese drama, though I don't differentiate Taiwanese and Chinese drama as two separate categories, only that they have their differences.
lumiina's sample article is considerate of viewers. :D

APPLICATION

Positions applying for:
Reviewer - drama, and music
Article - opinions

My reasons:
I've enjoyed a large number of Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin, Taiwanese...) drama for a long time (dating back when dinosaurs roamed the earth) since as a child, it was all I watched. While I can see some of them managed to make their way into the CR database, I find it's under-represented in The Onigiri. Hopefully my long-term drama watching can give other viewers some insight into what to look for next, what to expect, and what it's all about, because if I know nothing else I at least know Chinese drama. This doesn't mean I would solely focus on Chinese drama, this is just what I specialise in.

Although I also believe music should be represented, it's harder to stick to a particular genre and still represent many of CRer's tastes, so instead of sticking to a particular genre to review, I would like to attempt at trying new artists and bands I've yet to be exposed to and find something for different people to enjoy. In this I hope to achieve a broader experience for anyone who wants variety. :]

As for the matter of any experience...I've touched, handled, and jumped around in the newspaper field. But I have nothing interesting to say about why I want to write opinion articles. o_o I share manniee opinyon for you. No no no. I give for free. Only tree buck.

Sample: I will attempt to do a sample review of Death Note.

There are three sides to Death Note at the beginning of the series: the Kira, the catalysts, and the oppositions. The Kira side have an ideology of making the world a better place, rid of evil, and with Kira as their god. So Kira goes around killing criminals, and upholding his brand of justice with his Death Note. Which was originally in the possession of a Shinigami (Death God). Shinigami are passive in human conflicts, their sole task is to observe and take human life by writing down their names in the Death Note, and so they are the catalysts. The oppositions have L, the infamous detective, and the law (human government, INTERPOL) playing a deadly game of chess with Kira. Neither sides can reveal their true identity lest they get caught. Half-way through Death Note, there occurs a major shift in plot and characters. Person-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named irrevocably dies, and this execute events in systematic order. From this point on, the story takes on a durian (well known to be the smelly fruit) effect; you either love it, or you don't.

What is charming about Kira to viewers is Light, his real name, is nothing more than a student (undeniably a genius prodigy), killing criminals in his own room while studying and being monitored by L. For the world-renowned detective, L receives the same amount of fanbase, if not more, for his quirky behaviour and habits, not forgetting to mention his analytical abilities always challenge Kira's. Throughout the series, both Kira and L have gone through countless battles of wit, both determined to catch the other, though always falling short of it. This strong chemistry between two very charismatic characters create intensity and suspense in scenes and introduces a rare novelty where for the majority of those scenes, they're talking in their heads, trying to guess at each other's next moves. This makes up for the lack of action sequences you typically find in mainstream series, though they do tend to drag on in monologues similar to soliloquies in Shakespeare's work.

Death Note overall adopts a serious tone, with unexpected moments of humour thrown together, with an ending climax that can only be described as "I knew it".

I have several reasons. Most importantly I think in the past 4 Onigiri issues, no reviewers wrote about Chinese dramas or singers. I high think they should be mentioned. (Chinese is different from Taiwanese) I feel like a huge group of people is alienated.

:/ I feel a bit responsible for the lack of Chinese reviews, since I'm a music reviewer. The majority of my playlist is Japanese music, so it's only natural for me to choose Japanese albums/single/bands to review. I'll be sure to start including Chinese/Korean/other Asian music in my reviews.
