I can't see why someone would want to do that to themselves. Its like a slap in the face to their creator (and if they don't believe in God), then to their mothers. Its as if they're saying, "gosh mom, you screwed up, so I'm going to have to fix it."

But then on the other side I don't see anything wrong with it, if being a guy or girl is your passion, then go for it, I guess. You shouldn't let others opinions hold you back. Its definitely disgusting if they don't tell the person they're with that they used to be a different sex though. Thats just cruel!

If a relative of mine were to change genders, I'd never understand it, but I'd accept them. I couldn't not accept them. So if I could be okay with it happening to a relative, then it seems wrong to not accept a total stranger who decides to be a transvestite.

Plus, some species of frog can change genders (is going of a Jurassic Park reference here, if its wrong blame the movie! xP), why is it so wrong that some of us choose do to the same?

She makes a good point. Becoming a transvestite really is humiliating for your family member. Then again, so are a lot of things. In the end I do feel it may be somewhat rude to do that to your mother, but in the end I also feel as though its your life and not hers. At some point you’ll have to make decisions for yourself.

Firstly, I want to praise you for your good, mature discussions. A lot of people have prejudice against transexuals (which includes hemaphrodites) which I feel is unfair to them.

Secondly, I want to point out that transexualism, like a lot of sexual "disfunction" is associated very highly to the fetal development inside the womb. There are at least three androgen bursts in the brain according to animal studies. These androgen bursts could even in found in chimpanzees and they regulate sexual function of the young eg. mounting of the male rodents, aggressiveness towards other males. The hormonal levels in the first few months of life also affects the sexual behaviour in the animal models. We believe that there is a hidden instinct controlling these impulses and it would be hard to expect them to change without understanding the root of the problem. This is in parallel with other social-psychological diseases eg compulsive gambling and aggressiveness (both pathways had been studied extensively and much is already known). Besides, the brain maps of MtF transexuals resemble the female brain map than the male map, with some of them totally identical to the average female brain map. Most of the counselling therapies given to transexuals who fufil being marked by the questionnaire, interviews and the California Psychological Inventory index actually encourage the people to sex change to overcome the cognitive dissociation (which would negatively affect their self-confidence and performance) in the body.

I knew that there would be a lot of stress particularly, emotional, psychological and social stress that transsexualism would be imposed on the society and the people around him/her. (Can you imagine how much stress the female peers around a MtF transexual would face if the MtF transexual is more gorgerous than them?) However, it seems to me that for these people the truth of their sexes are not in their identity to their sex not to their biological sex that they are born with. Perhaps the society would be more forgiving if the viable eggs could be cultured from male cells.

I actually know of a man (outward appearance of a woman) who had period discharges flowing out through the penis by no fault of her own due to abnormal development of the external genitalia (but is labelled as a transexual). Anybody who wants to know more can search science direct and the google scholar.

Whatever makes you happy. I don't see how it is anybody's business if someone decides to be a transsexual.

I don't understand why people have a problem with them.
They're just like everyone else, but born different. In the end, they're still human and they have feelings.

Personally, I don't find it amusing. I don't get why they have to alter their bodyparts just to be like the opposite sex. Yes, I understand that they have a strong desire to make themselves feel like a boy/girl, but it's like saying that he/she doesn't like what the Creator gave him/her. But the most important thing is, they are human beings too and have feelings. Heck, I salute petite tomboys who are manlier than normal men. I tip my hat off to them.
