I'd have to say:

1) Tomoyo Sakagami



-She's the perfect girlfriend in my opinion. Active and dedicated, an intelligent person who also cares deeply about her loved ones. While she has a lot going for her (student council president, great grades, athletic) she has a misguided past, which gives her a sense of imperfection, which in a sense, makes her perfect. It is because of this trait that her character is more believable and I can relate to her more and feel compassion and sympathy for her because I feel like she can be a legitimate person.

2) Masami Iwasawa



- A stunning musician with even more stunning lyrical genius, Iwasawa-san is such a dynamic character. Like almost all of the other characters from Angel Beats!, Iwasawa has a tragic past. As a result of domestic violence, she dies before she can fulfill her life calling as a musician. While I think she would make an interesting girlfriend, and have an insightful opinion on life, she is not a completely believable character given the world she is placed in. Still, I was so touched by her performance of "My Song" and her story that I just had to put her up so high on the list.

3) Tohru Honda



-I'm currently watching Fruits Basket, and Tohru is a gem. The amount of compassion this girl can have for others is astounding. Even with her mother's passing looming over her head, she can still smile everywhere she goes. She takes care of all the other Sohma's and is a motherly figure. Tohru is simple, sweet, cute, and compassionate. Her character may be a little on the more idealistic side, but i can dream can't I?

4) Yuuki Asuna



-How can I put this. Asuna can't not be on this list. She should practically be on everyone's list right now considering the popularity of SAO. Asuna is a fierce fighter, and is very head strong, however she also has a deep compassionate side like Tomoyo. Her relationship with Kirito is so ideal and I can only wish to have a girlfriend like Asuna. Her beauty is nearly unparalleled, given her facial expressions and cute gestures. There's really not too much more I'd like to put here, but Asuna is a staple of every man's anime crush list.

5) Hinata Hyuuga



-Since I've been watching Naruto from the time I was 12, I have always empathized with Hinata. She is shy and soft-spoken, and has a hard time letting people know her emotions. The precious moments where we do get to see her try to convey a message of love or emotion, usually ends up as a failure leaving us asking ourselves "Noo, Hinata! You almost had him! Don't faint!" or something along those lines. This feature of Hinata I find particularly attractive because she is such a subtle beauty. Her character continues to evolve and mature, providing more and more insight into her development. It's really great to see a dynamic character like Hinata as she grows with the reader/viewer because of Naruto's length.

I wanted to add Nagisa Furukawa but I think I'm done typing for this post, she'll receive and honorable mention. Thanks for reading this long-winded expression of my fantasies.
