well for me (when i got long hair about like 4-5in long on the top) i like to work with a dry surface hair. cause when your hair is wet it tend to get heavy and harder to make it stay up. and for spikes i perfer gel and hair spray. in my case i use gel and lots of it ^_^ pertty much it's like shampooing your hair... but with gel >.> i just douce my hair with that stuff then slowly slick it backward and try to cover the top of my head with gel and scrunch it in a bit, to get the hairstem or root. then pull it upward until i get my shape i want it to be... and i use the twisting method (where you grab clumps of hair and twist it until it stand together and that way you get nice individual equally large strands) then hair spray it down and blow dry it to keep it holding all day. this is more of a guy's method and simple. ususally takes like 2min if im in a hurry and more if i really care to twist all day >.< sorry this probably doesnt answer your question much unless you have short hair.

for women : if you have short and light weight hair then just run a straightener through your hair to help seperate and smooth it out and also adds tothe nice light weight look. then use some hair spray and spary just a nice amount onto your hair and then run your fingerand upward to how you wonna spike it. this will have the effect of a light spike not a heavy clump of spike. it's almost like using gastby but without it. it gives your hair a bit of volume too. but everyone's hair is different so hope this helps a bit. it's probably be easier if i was here to assist you but from this you should get an idea of how to do your hair ^_^ oo and the product use a glue spray, something that will hold tightly.

I've straightened my hair almost everyday. It's so addictive. I'm at the point where my hair has lost much of it's shine, sleekness, and smoothness. I use conditioner in the shower to help get it's moisture back, but every strand of my hair can break so easily, and it's sort of frizzy if you look at it closely.

The picture link below is something I googled up. It's how healthy i want my hair to look.

I have this product from "proclaim" called an Olive Spray-on glosser. It guarantees Frizz-free shine, infuses moisture into dehydrated hair, adds intense shine, eliminates frizz and dryness, and its alcohol free.

Say... When I use it, the spray is sort of sticky, and gel-like. It makes my hair clump together as if i havent taken a shower for days! Anyway I can apply it to my hair without overdoing it? (Using my hands are a pain, to apply it to my hair. It's super icky.)

What other method could I use beside of this product? What do you do in situations like this?

Mmmm...well you could try using Grapeseed Glossing Serum from the body shop =)
It smells nice and it's not sticky-icky, and it does work. Makes my hair really soft and shiney xD

for hair like that... is it shorter on the top? and also, how can i get kinda random spike-ish hair to stand in the back of the top of the head (possibly where the turn is)?

well i can't say for sure obviously xD, but i'd say it probably is by the looks of it.

and uh for the spikes at the back/top of the head if i understand you right, couldn't you just make them like normal ones? just get some wax (etc), stick it up, and then do that twirly thing with the hair making more defined spikes.

if that made any sense -.-''
