me and my family go every other summer to Busan. It's really nice and by the sea and everyone is really nice to foreigners who don't know where the heck they're going also the underground place has really nice cheap and stylish clothes. And the food is really spicy!

As someone who spent 18 years in Seoul, it all comes down to what interests you and such to know where you're going.... Transportation around Korea is actually very cost efficient in terms of getting around the city or from city to city via Bus or Train.. although it's best to take the KTX to go further south from Seoul (Yongsan Station) to Daegu. In which you can continue on down to Busan within half the day.

Well if you want to travel cost efficient in Seoul. You could just stay in a PC bang or Jimjimbang they can't kick you out as long as you pay it's cheaper than a hotel. Depends on what you want to do in korea I guess. You could take a ferry around Seoul you could go to Namsan tower. Check out Youido and of course the Royal Palaces. There's a lot of different area's to check out like Insaedong which has a lot of traditional wares and art galleries. There's Itaewon which has the most foriegners and all the stores speak english and japanese. (There's also a really nice modern bar called Between it's pricey but it's a nice place!) You could also go shopping there's so many places. Dongdaemun, Apgujeong(Really expensive), Itaewon generally anywhere. Interesting places you might want to check out Hongdae for the hope and free market on the weekends. Hongik university in hongdae(duh) it's a arts and design school and the students sell their original art at a park near the school on the weekends the hope and free market it's something to check out. There's Lotte world if you want to go to a amusement park. If you want to go clubbing there's a ton places to go for that in Hongdae, Itaewon, Gangnam, Apgujeong and so on. I was only in Seoul for 2 months so I don't know that much. But I'm planning to study at Yonsei for a semester or a year next year 2011 so mayb we can meet up. I was at Yonsei this past for summer session so if you have question of Sinchon I know the place the well. If you have more questions I'll try and answer them. I'm actually trying to get info of Busan, Ilsan, and Incheon :].

Theres a city just for foreigners (itaewon 이태원) so even if you only speak english it would not be all that hard to communicate.
Theres always hand type of signals =)
