I know, right??? Makes me jealous at times! Like when few black guys grow theirs out, and they either perm it or straighten it out with a flat iron, it looks shinier/glossier than any woman's! And flowy, and no frizz around the face line! Again, jealous! >_<;

I actually wonder if there's actually a genetic or natural reason for this! maybe there's something about testosterone or estrogen levels that makes hair more robust or shinier, or who knows?
But, having heard the "male long hair being better/prettier/stronger" thing a lot, it makes me wonder whats up with that.

Also, im going to regret saying this, but ive always wondered if having really, really long hair ends up being a bother when going to the bathroom or taking a shower; I mean, tailbone lenght wet hair must be like dragging a chain ball around!

I think it is actually heavy; when I was in AF basic, there was a girl in my flight that had long, past-her-butt-cheeks hair. Somehow, she always managed to get it into the max regulatory 3 in. bulk! One day, while in the shower, one of the girls wondered if it got heavy when wet. She said it can be, a little, so the girl lifted the wet hair up--and she said, "Wow, it's super heavy! How DO you wash all this hair!?"

She said she rings as much water out as she can, then blow dry it. It takes a while, though! That was over 14 years ago, I wonder if she still has all that hair? Or at least made it mid-back length?

I prefer having short to medium length hair because it feels much more comfortable and tidy to me.

I like being able to not feel so hot and greasy when I have short hair, since most guys sweat more than girls. Since I like to run and swim, shorter hair is also much more convenient, and I like that it's very quick and easy to dry short hair.

Business-wise, it's also much more professional for me to have short hair as opposed to long hair.

I hope she did; i remember that when i was 26 or so, at a lake retreat, i was swimming around, and took a break by getting on a raft that was anchored near the lake's main beach; there were some friends and a bunch of guys and girls there, and one of the girls had really long and bushy hair, almost cheekbone in length, tied in a long braid; she was joking around and did this little spin as i was climbing up, and she hit me across the face with her hair's end and knocked me out of the raft's ladder!
She was really embarrassed by it, and confessed it wasn't the first time her hair had caused her trouble in such ways; she once got it stuck on a subway's door, so he had started wearing it in a braid ever since.
Next summer, our mutual friend told me she had started wearing it shoulder length after another "harmful yet embarrassing" incident, but i never dared ask it was.
Really ong hair looks pretty on the right girl or guy, but it must be really high maintenance and a hassle.
