@ littofia

1. a) D
b) A
c) E & B

Don't you seriously know what these things are!?!
A = lung
B = Trachea (wind pipe)
C = rib (not an intercostal muscle, which would have been a better answer for c) than B)
D = Heart
E = Diaphragm

Please actually look this stuff up yourself. You should know that that is a diagram of the thorax from the front.

That looked like IB standard level Bio, or GCSE Bio...

P.S. To Kill a Mockingbird is really good... I've read it twice, however there are other books which appeal to me much more, maybe it's just not being a Us citizen that means I'm not crazy about it.

^ sp² hybridisation creates a flat shape, usually with a double bond, like ethene, where both carbons are sp² hybridised, and the remaining p orbitals overlap, creating a double bond.

sp hybridisation creates a triple bond between carbons, as in ethyne, this is because there are only 2 sp orbitals created, and the remaining 2 p orbitals on each atom merge to form 2 pi bonds, therefore creating a triple bond.

sp³ hybrids are tetrahedral (eg. methane) and have single bonds.

v I learnt that in high school >.< no offense personally, but I consider business and economics to be the most boring subjects in the world, history comes a close third.

I nearly died during Economics class. Thank Lord, the lecturer was hot or I'll probably jump down from my class block.

hahahha that lung picture brings back memories of when science was simple.

but for c, i would put the ribcage for the answer instead of the trachea. intercostal muscles only function during forced inspiration and expiration. ribcage expands and retracts due to the air pressure when breathing, allowing air to enter n exit the lungs

Never taken bio-related subjects in school but based on common sense it should be:
(1) ventilation
(2) diaphragm
(3) down
(4) volume
(5) lowers
(6) pressure

Hope it's correct...
