Do you care about illiterate people ?

Scribble : I searched and came up with randomness .
Lock if needed .

~*~*~

I wanted to try out these polls too !
Ehem , anyway .

Do you care about illiterate people ?
I would appreciate it if you say why .

My answer is this : Kind of . I didn`t care before actually .
Now I care a tiny bit .
I just never realized how many illiterate people there in Canada alone .
Canada`s a pretty big country and it`s pretty rich too .
Yet , there so many Canadians who can`t read .
I wondered how many people in the world can`t read .
That`s a lot of people .

I thought about this `cause I had a test on a brochure about a college .
This college helps illiterate people learn how to read .
I never realized I was actually taking my ability to read and write for granted .

Yes! They need to know how to read a book! There are so many good books out there! O_o

And besides, how can you survive in our society without reading?

Well somewhat I'm going to be honest and say it's 50-50 because it is not like I am doing anything to try to help
them out. If I ever get the chance to help someone to read then hell yeah I'll help.
I can't image not being about to read!
Nice topic btw, I look forward to reading some answers.

Don't think there are too many illiterate people in Norway, though I guess there is a big amount of people who can read, but reads rather slowly or has problems reading.

Reading is knowledge. Knowledge is power. Power is everything.

It's a simple fact of life that people who can read will do better and be more successful than those who cannot.

And while the illiterate piss me off, I do not care about them b/c as far as I'm concerned (in most cases there are exceptions) it's their own damn fault.

Articles aren't too bad though depending on the topic.

And yeah its pretty damn annoying talking to an idiot.

but then again so does everything else..

reading gives you knowledge. There are stupid people out there because they cant fricken take 1 hour of their life to expand their knowledge by reading a book, or an article. Its real sad.

Pfft, you've just read the wrong type of books!

I recommend every book by Steven Erikson, Ed Greenwood, Weiss & Hickman and lots of other good shizzle, like Neil Gaiman and... *can't remember him, he writes about a world that is flat, and is being held up by four elephants and one big turtle floating through the universe*

A person intelligence or knowledge has nothing to do with who they are. You cannot judge them on that. if a very talented, smart person and an idiot are with you. You almost get hit by a car. The idiot helps you and the smart person laughs at you. Who is better?

Reading's fun -^^- it can teach more things than school can if you ask me. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't read o.0 What if there was like a sign that said OMG DON'T COME IN!!! EVIL BEAR!!! if you couldn't read then you'd totally blow off the sign and get attacked
