I don't like math and i think that complicated algebra is totally useless in school. addition and all is totally necessary but not complicated algebra.

no, relatively few jobs require high level math like calculus and physics

ah! well i had to go to some maths talk a few days ago.. and im very much convinced now that we do need maths lol. dam those lecturers!

whether u know it or not.. maths is needed for everything in life. from computers to the military.. everything. I think its just good to have a basic understanding of how maths is used and why its so important. and calculators were obviously made using maths.. and were constantly updated. and its good to know what all the buttons mean.. which u learn in maths.

And also maths helps the way u think. It lets u look into something with a more logical point of view and calculate step by step.. even without using maths! Being good at maths shows employers that ur capable of solving things step by step and having a logical mindstep

not that i care much.. im good at maths =D

Money makes world go round, to handle money you need math.

Sad to say it, we need math. But it really depends on the type of career you plan to have in the future, if you're going to be a writer, don't bother taking the complicated math classes. Math is really important, w/o #'s we'd probably have no way of organizing ourselves....

we use the simple math... like adding subtracting, percents, multiplying dividing.. but not log and ln and cos and all that crap.. but usually depending on your major..

basic math for general life unless you specialize in a field that needs more.

No brainer. Yes we do, even the advance math such as calculus. Sure, most of the time advance math pretty useless, unless your job is something so dependent in math such as rocket scientist or a designer of a new computer software, but its the training that is taught is whats necessary in real life. Its the analysis on how to solve a complicated problem that makes math such a necessity in the real life. A well known and stinky rich doctor sucks at analysis compared to what a Math profesor who earns far less. Math is all about analysis which pisses of people that relies to much on memorization to get them thru school.

In life, the only thing constant is change. Nothing goes exactly by the book and those who cant figure out how to get thru the tough moments doesnt have a future in life.

Note: I LOVE MATH

The degree of math varies depending on carreer and necessity. for example, a mcdonalds worker may get by with some simple algebra, whilst an architectural engineer requires more geometry, and calculus for differential equations. and CS majors may require math beyond that- theoretical mathematics.
