I tried to run away multiple times or told everyone I would, but I didn't mean it. Usually, I just did it to get a reaction out of people, specifically, my parents.

What kind of spoiled child runs away from there warm, water supplied, computer filled home? This is how I envision situations like this playing out; featuring spoiled American children.

Little Bobby: Mom! I want an iPhone 5!
Mother: Bobby, your 4 is doing you just fine. It's a great phone! Why aren't you happy with it?
Little Bobby: It's not fast enough! The 5 has a bigger retina display! Need I go on?!
Mother: Son, your phone is fine. You don't need the latest everything. Be happy with what you have. There are kids who'd love to be in your position.
Little Bobby: Fuck this shit. You don't know how I feel. You don't know about my problems! FUCK YOU!
Mother: Bobby, don't talk to me that way.
Little Bobby: FUCK YOU I'M LEAVING.

And the boy proceeds to run away, making his mother cry.

I think there's a kid like that in every culture. -__- And based on my observations it's partially (if not mostly) the parents' fault.

On topic, I have never thought of running away before for the reasons DetectiveAlex stated above. I mean, sheesh, I bet when I finally move out I'll still be visiting my parents' home A LOT because it's the only place I get treated like a VIP for free.

People depend on my strength, not even lying. I'm more likely to stop someone fro running away than be the one doing this.

No, I could never leave the food behind. Or the bed, either. And I just generally think it's stupid.

From home, no. From life, yes.

Many times, I`ve thought of running away.

But then I came to realisation that running away will not solve anything so I chose to just deal with things and be strong. Running away won`t solve anything, it`s better to just deal with situations and try ending them. Although, sometimes running away for a while can be a nice break away from everything... as long as you come back and realise.

I want to run away to a different country...
I want to run away from my problems. But then I thought about it, and you can't actually run very far from it. It will always come back and kick you in the ass. At least one day it will.

I've always thought of it as a kid, leaving the warmth of a house and my comfy bed and generosity of the parents who raised me, the obvious smart choice..

I find it hilarious that some of the people stating that they've thought of running away are over 16...

It isn't running away if you're a fucking adult. It's called growing up.

No. I was too mellow to get anywhere near worked up enough for that. Come to think of it, I never really had a rebellious phase. The most heated argument that I had with my mom involved whether or not I criticized her driving. As for my stepdad... It had to do with a male movie character punching a female character unconcious to keep her from doing something stupid. I voted that the lady deserved it, because she was having a tantrum and was going to lead several young children into a desert without food or water, despite it being obvious that her idea was suicidal. I completely supported the hit, since the lady's choice of trying to drag children into it royally pissed me off. My stepdad was very unhappy with my opinion, and started preaching about guys hitting women. The argument ended when my mother pointed out that he was talking to me as if I was a guy.

Shinji Ikari learned that running away isn't always the solution. Then again, killing off three-fourths of the human population on Earth and reducing most of the planet to a red wasteland probably wasn't a good choice either.

I almost ran away when I was 7 to 8 years old because my dad's side of the family is filled with money hungry, selfish, egotistical monsters. However, I stayed because I couldn't leave behind the only person I ever loved - my mom. I wasn't going to let her stay with this idiots, even if I had a frail 7-8 year old body.
