I never tried to run away but I got kicked out of my house twice. They let me back in both times but it sucked. the first time i stayed at a friends house for like 3 days and the second I didn't have my wallet or a jacket on me, and I slept on a bench in a park type thing a couple miles from home. Oh glorious days back in highschool

Nop, I guess I would like to if I had someone to run away with-.- Because it's pretty pointless doing it unless there's a good reason, which I don't really have, the only reason I can muster up is to go see the world, but then still I would need money and I can't make money without working, I can't go see the world while working, ergo.. No choice -.-

Its a selfish act if you can't even support yourself. People are so naive that people think others will support them if they leave their home. If you do not have a job that pays a good sum of cash and friends who are willing to room with you. Do not move out. You're only doing this as a disservice.

yes and i did when i was 13 and again when i was 17 and 18. i just remember 13 i was just crumbling to pieces and i didn't know why and just one day i had this thought dawn on me that it didnt matter if i was in peoples lives or not so i just walked out of school and just started walking and walking and walking. of course i didn't go for long i think it only took the police 4 hours to find me. when i was 17 its cause i had just had my heart broken and i was being a normal over dramatic teen lol it took a week for me to come to my since and go home and stop being an idiot. then the last time was at 18 which i guess isn't really running away when your legally an adult lol but me and my father had it out and he pushed me and pinned me against the wall and threatened to hit me so i turned tail and booked it but came home after a month once things calmed down

I technically ran away about five years ago. I've been living with a friend ever since. I still go back and see my mom about once a week or so.

You know, in many Asian countries. Especially in Japan, getting kicked out of the household is considered punishment. What do we Americans do to our children? Lock them to their rooms or take their phone or electronics away. So ya they'd want to run away. If you really want them to be disciplined, throw'em out of the house and tell them that their not allowed back in until they've learned their lesson. Food? let them figure that out. XD Although this probably only works on kids who haven't already ran away in the past.

Believe me, even though I was raised here in the States, my wonderful asian mother loved to kick me out of the house when I was younger. Now look at me! Im in college and trying to make mama proud! ROFL

(Directed towards North America or any country with first world problems)
-If you don't have a good stable job , a place to stay when you leave.
Do not run away . . .
Wait.
I know it can be frustrating, painful and scary living with someone who you don't like but there is no point to run away if you can't qualify those needs listed above. In the real world , no one is going to care about you. Once you run away you're making a choice of independence , and once your independent it's going to be all you. Not your parent/guardian or whatever letting you live under their roof, paying the bills ,etc. It's going to be you working to meet those needs. <-- cannot stress how important that is.

If you're dealing with someone abusive and know that their going to threaten you, call the police and let them settle it. Don't run away from the problem because it's only going to get worse for the other people living with them or themselves. Make sure they get some sort of help to not abuse and hope that both of you can communicate to each others understanding and end the problem.

Wow . . I sound like a poopin PSA.

Totally agree with Shoee, make triple sure you have a place to stay.

If you're on the street wondering around something very bad could happen to you.

Btw i always thought he says, "I would take a machine to the grave" How fitting. Imagine you died on life support or imagine you take a machine gun to the grave.

I "ran away" in February due to dealing with too many problems all at once. The only difference is I wasn't actually planning on coming back home....physically. I'm here today and won't runaway again.
