Earth has colonized several planets in the near solar systems and is starting to expand and explore the universe. the have met only one alien race but they are friendly. Another unknown alien race attack Earth and start to win quite a bit. then a rookie pilot that has been fighting with just a normal mobile suit is reckognised as an Ace pilot and is then given a gundam which is part of a new line of prototype mobile suits which earth has been developing from the start of the war. these Gundams and 2 new mother ships to go along with them start leading attacks to drive the aliens away from earth. the aliens are then forced off earth and are pursued then the aliens are forced to develop something to counter the gundams. 5 gundams for each of the 2 ships. the main character is best friends with 2 pilots of other gundams. eventually the aliens develop new war machines and the battles get harder and harder until they manage to capture a gundam and utilize it's technology in a new mobile suit they are making. the aliens then send out this new mobile suit and all the gundams and one ship are destroyed except for the main character and his 2 friends. The only one that can stop this new mobile suit is the main character due to his crazy as ability to operate his gundam. he loses a battle (his gundam gets destroyed but he gets out in time and back to his ship) and the ship retreats for the time being as they are building a new gundam according to his own specifications. but almost everytime he has gone to battle with the enemy the aliens have been able to upgrade and build more mobile suit. the main character's friends have there gundams upgraded but they are no match compared to the main character and the alien leader's mobile suit.

Character
the main character(guy) should be kind and caring. he is the best pilot from earth and is capable of taking on many enemies at once with even a standard mobile suit and his abilityies are only matched by 2 of his opponents.
his friend (guy) should be funny and a good pilot himself but always depending on the main character to do the most out on the battle field.
the other friend (girl) she and the main character should fall in love. she is a decent pilot and cares much for the main character. she is extremely kind and is admired by all of her comrades.

Episode Length
25minutes is fine
there should be at least 2 seasons of this having 50 episode each at least and even 70 might be better

Oh....God, that's pretty much Macross. >_>

The three viewpoints method has been around since Gundam 0080. Purposes, mindsets, motivations, political stances, etc. have been presented with characters going back to the original Gundam. Bad guys do in fact have positive realizations like Yzak Joule for example and good guys succumbing to tainted morals like Reccoa Londe. The no-masked-villain plot has also already existed with 8th MS team among other series. Interplanetary war concept has semi-existed with the Jupiter Energy Fleet within Crossbone and post-Crossbone UC series.

I think the killed or be killed personality didn't work out very well within the persona of Heero Yuy. Whether you have a pacifist like Kira Yamato or a ruthless killer like Chronicle Asher what really affects the quality of the story line is the motivations behind it. The last thing I want for a lead protagonist is an emotionless blob with all style and no substance.

I kinda laughed at the female antagonist idea above because it's a combination of Cima Garahau's and Aina Sahalin's stories in a nutshell. It would be initially unique, but at the same time I have to question how does the surrounding storyline fits without becoming mere trivial knowledge to the viewers. Definitely an idea of merit if it makes it past the drawing board.

Three non-original things I want to see in future Gundam series are:

1: A complete 180 on the cultural representation of a Gundam. In every single series the Gundam has stood for hope and justice for the commoners, I feel it would be a very coy rhetorical device for the Gundam to be a monster and a sign of death, even temporarily. This concept was semi-used in Gundam Wing where Gundams where initially seen as colony invasion weapons in the beginning, but was only internalized by the military. It would be interesting if this could be extended to commoners with the little kids fearing the appearance of a Gundam rather than staring in awe while holding the Gundam action figure in his hand.

2. The de-dynasty-warriorsization of Gundam. Gundams aren't so technologically better than other suits that it can destroy hundreds before taking significant damage. Gundam was made to be a realistic competitor to super robots like Voltron, Gekiganger, etc. It needs to go back to those roots. 8th MS Team was so enjoyable because of this.

3. Increased importance of strategy. Instead of mass fire and dodge manuvers why not go back to the use of pincer attacks, flanking, and feint fire? Victory Gundam and Gundam Wing battles were so much more interesting than recent Seed, Seed D, and 00 battles because of this.

Oh well, that's my two cents.

I don't really care what they put on the show just as long as its good and they keep up the reputation Gundam is known for...

hmm.. is there a gundam series where "gundams" are the enemy and the protagonist are like using their heads to defeat them.. something like that... but then again.. it wouldn't be a gundam series if the gundams are the enemy right? but hey why not give it a try right?

Like War in the Pocket? RX-78-NT-1 Alex is the enemy MS in there. And one of the protagonists is a Zaku II pilot.

Yeah I noticed that. Their cockpits always survive miraculously, even after being run through by an AS sword in the mid-section.

BUMP!

This is my two cents:

Story:
Since we're talking about NEW concepts for the gundam series, how about a Gundam series that has to do with the training of the pilot himself? Then again, it would contradict what I would be writing below. So, here's a used in other anime but wasn't used in Gundam one.

The main character and his team are in search of the mysterious leader of an unknown Mobile Suit organization that has been terrorizing the world. Every time they seemingly have him cornered, he is always able to escape, forcing the team to track him down again.

This is somewhat a good but repetitive concept. The story can focus on the effects of a seemingly failing effort could do to the resources of their employers, as well as the pressure that is placed on the countries that are under the threat of these terrorism.

Characters:
It's too common to see a guy in his prime pick up a Gundam and kick the Mobile Suit of his opponent into a bucket, so why not make it the opposite? The main character can be a man past his prime with more battles under his belt than the bullets of his gundam and the unending determination to capture/kill the enemy's leader. His entire team consists of newbies with lots of potential that are too headstrong for their own good, but chicken out under the pressure of gunfire. So, he has to use his abilities as a commander to rally these men into battle, overcoming the enemy with realistic strategies in warfare like pincers, flanking, feints, trench, cooked grenades, the advantages of terrain, or even (my favorite) bombardment.

The story, instead of being told in the normal spectator's view, can be told through one of the newbies in the group (lol Haruhi Suzumiya), who's skills don't compare to the rest of the team, but is the luckiest from them all (like an enemy mobile suit appears in front of him unaware that he's there).

The antagonist of Gundam series is usually a man behind a mask, so let's change around this concept. Instead of a mask, how about he hides behind the shadows? The only person who knows his face is the protagonist, and whenever it seems like the antagonist is about to be revealed, it isn't actually him.

More ideas to come.
