Earth has colonized several planets in the near solar systems and is starting to expand and explore the universe. the have met only one alien race but they are friendly. Another unknown alien race attack Earth and start to win quite a bit. then a rookie pilot that has been fighting with just a normal mobile suit is reckognised as an Ace pilot and is then given a gundam which is part of a new line of prototype mobile suits which earth has been developing from the start of the war. these Gundams and 2 new mother ships to go along with them start leading attacks to drive the aliens away from earth. the aliens are then forced off earth and are pursued then the aliens are forced to develop something to counter the gundams. 5 gundams for each of the 2 ships. the main character is best friends with 2 pilots of other gundams. eventually the aliens develop new war machines and the battles get harder and harder until they manage to capture a gundam and utilize it's technology in a new mobile suit they are making. the aliens then send out this new mobile suit and all the gundams and one ship are destroyed except for the main character and his 2 friends. The only one that can stop this new mobile suit is the main character due to his crazy as ability to operate his gundam. he loses a battle (his gundam gets destroyed but he gets out in time and back to his ship) and the ship retreats for the time being as they are building a new gundam according to his own specifications. but almost everytime he has gone to battle with the enemy the aliens have been able to upgrade and build more mobile suit. the main character's friends have there gundams upgraded but they are no match compared to the main character and the alien leader's mobile suit.

Character
the main character(guy) should be kind and caring. he is the best pilot from earth and is capable of taking on many enemies at once with even a standard mobile suit and his abilityies are only matched by 2 of his opponents.
his friend (guy) should be funny and a good pilot himself but always depending on the main character to do the most out on the battle field.
the other friend (girl) she and the main character should fall in love. she is a decent pilot and cares much for the main character. she is extremely kind and is admired by all of her comrades.

Episode Length
25minutes is fine
there should be at least 2 seasons of this having 50 episode each at least and even 70 might be better

That sounds like every other shonen manga out there. With a hint of Macross Frontier.

The three viewpoints method has been around since Gundam 0080. Purposes, mindsets, motivations, political stances, etc. have been presented with characters going back to the original Gundam. Bad guys do in fact have positive realizations like Yzak Joule for example and good guys succumbing to tainted morals like Reccoa Londe. The no-masked-villain plot has also already existed with 8th MS team among other series. Interplanetary war concept has semi-existed with the Jupiter Energy Fleet within Crossbone and post-Crossbone UC series.

I think the killed or be killed personality didn't work out very well within the persona of Heero Yuy. Whether you have a pacifist like Kira Yamato or a ruthless killer like Chronicle Asher what really affects the quality of the story line is the motivations behind it. The last thing I want for a lead protagonist is an emotionless blob with all style and no substance.

I kinda laughed at the female antagonist idea above because it's a combination of Cima Garahau's and Aina Sahalin's stories in a nutshell. It would be initially unique, but at the same time I have to question how does the surrounding storyline fits without becoming mere trivial knowledge to the viewers. Definitely an idea of merit if it makes it past the drawing board.

Three non-original things I want to see in future Gundam series are:

1: A complete 180 on the cultural representation of a Gundam. In every single series the Gundam has stood for hope and justice for the commoners, I feel it would be a very coy rhetorical device for the Gundam to be a monster and a sign of death, even temporarily. This concept was semi-used in Gundam Wing where Gundams where initially seen as colony invasion weapons in the beginning, but was only internalized by the military. It would be interesting if this could be extended to commoners with the little kids fearing the appearance of a Gundam rather than staring in awe while holding the Gundam action figure in his hand.

2. The de-dynasty-warriorsization of Gundam. Gundams aren't so technologically better than other suits that it can destroy hundreds before taking significant damage. Gundam was made to be a realistic competitor to super robots like Voltron, Gekiganger, etc. It needs to go back to those roots. 8th MS Team was so enjoyable because of this.

3. Increased importance of strategy. Instead of mass fire and dodge manuvers why not go back to the use of pincer attacks, flanking, and feint fire? Victory Gundam and Gundam Wing battles were so much more interesting than recent Seed, Seed D, and 00 battles because of this.

Oh well, that's my two cents.

Turns out that my favourite Gundam Series was Gundam 08th MS Team.

Next up is actually MS IGLOO.

Taking a page out of those books is actually the juxtaposition of ordinary life within an extraodinary world (wow big words! I don't need to use that for a week now!)

*cough*

My two cents.

As I said before, ordinary life within an extraordinary world. Turns out I'm a sucker for that sort of stuff. What I really want to see is not heroes but ordinary people trying to live in extraordinary times. Throw the ideas of super powered dynasty warriored gundams out of the way. Bring back the 8th MS Team. A bunch of idiots in cannon fodder mobile suits trying to live each day without getting their cockpit shot by that ace pilot who painted his Mobile Suit red.

Alternatively, the lives of civillians during the conflict - the little guys, who are probably dragged into the propaganda machine. A brother and sister team who are stranded on earth and want to go back to the colonies fearing the lives of their parents. All doing this while an epic war between earth and the colonies take place. It's like a road trip with land mines.

I agree with the increased importance of strategy (although in Gundam Wing? What strategy? Those Gundams were nigh invincible!). What I also want back is ship-to-ship combat. Ever notice that there's nearly no representations of ship to ship combat in most Gundam shows? Most of the time a ship is introduced, it's taken down by a single Gundam to show how powerful and revolutionary those robots are. But Gundams aren't supposed to be powerful. They're a _real robot_ genre. There's only so far that next-gen tech and optimisation can do to a robot.

I also loved Legend of the Galactic Heroes for it's strategy, heh. Gundam + Legend of the Galactic Heroes = possible win.

Finally. What I would love to see is people on the other side of the fight. People who go "Oh shit it's a Gundam run for your fucking life" sort of thing. And the people who try to stand up to that sort of power. I dunno. My thing. I like underdogs.

For me, as long as they don overpower the gundams, any storyline is fine...

Really? Even *shudder* Turn A Gundam?

Storyline is _essential_ to a good anime. A bad storyline will make or break an anime regardless of how cool the Gundams are.

Glad to see someone actually took the time to read and comprehend my post.

About Gundam Wing having "strategy," yes it as a whole was an steaming pile of overpowered fighting microwaves, but it had it's points of tactical genius such as Zechs' opening maneuvers against Wing--indeed lacking but at least it made an effort.

I understand the lack of ship combat due to more of a reflection of modern military tactics, but I agree that it would be a nice kick to future series.

That sounds like something I'd make, except the character part, and replace 'Gundam' with 'Forbidden Alien Failed Experiment that was buried under the ground in some backwater planet'.

Have you ever considered that Gundam was all about wars between humans? I like your idea, but the aliens thing does not totally make it Gundam.

I'll try to get an idea...

Year 28XX, on another planet. It's been over 3 centuries since humanity settled on neighboring planets, and over a century since the centralized Earth government succumbed to the flames of civil war. The last conflict saw widespread use of super weapons, one of the well-known ones being the special Mobile Suits known as Gundams. The ensuing destruction has cut off contact between human colonies, and technologies that made warfare and living efficient have been almost lost completely...

Until some adventurous jerk found something that looked well intact in an old armory.

The setting is an ice planet, with corporations governing over the populace. Every now and then there are some turf wars, even on the gang level. Mobile Suits were retained, but everyone seems to have forgotten what a Gundam is. Non-Mobile Suit vehicles, including tanks and land battleships, are amphibious.

Oh, and in before butthurt oldbie.

Well if I wanted to make a new Gundam concept, I'd use these:
1. More awesome manly main characters who aren't prepubescent and angsty
2. More tactics and strategies
3. No more "I stumbled upon a Gundam" crap
4. No color coded Super Sentai crap
5. No overpowered Gundams and more 08th MS Team-like suits
6. No more wings and fucking Funnel system and all it's reincarnations (seriously, it's overused)
7. Make Gundams smaller, agile and more tactical minded (like Gasaraki, Patlabor size)
8. More thought provoking storyline, less pretty boy "I have a miserable life but I want to stop war by sitting on the fence and playing Jesus" shit
9. More vulcans, less beam spams
10. No copping out of situation with crap like surviving explosions multiple times only to receive bandages, my Gundam runs on ghosts and last minute hyper speed Char tribute.
