The rules of the polls are the same rules cited in the Site Rules

The only exception is rule #8 as certain Versus threads are allowed under the polls section.



1. Please refrain from linking to websites that share Anime, Manga or Drama illegally.
2. Crunchyroll’s forums are PG-13. Please keep this in mind when selecting your avatar as well as sharing information in your profile, forum threads & groups.
3. Adult content of any kind has no place in the forums. This includes avatars, user profiles, photos, forum threads & groups.This content will be deleted and can result in account deletion as well.
4. Multiple accounts are not allowed.
5. Trolling, flaming and flamebaiting are discouraged. Participating in these activities is looked down upon and generally results in deletion of the offending post.
6. Don’t Spam (including chainletters). Chainletters are not to be circulated.
7. Please be respectful of other users. Common courtesy, “please” and “thank you” go a long ways.
8. Please try to use the appropriate forum for your thread. Please refrain from creating duplicate/personal/help/VS. threads.
9. Type legibly. Avoid posting multiple images, double posting or creating quote pyramids.
10. Always report bugs you experience on Crunchyroll to the Staff
11. Only Submit Valid Information To Crunchyroll’s Library
12. Only Premium Members can suggest Anime/Drama/Music
13. When in doubt, use common sense!

Infringements on these rules will result in a temporary ban. This ban varies upon the infraction & can include deletion of your account.

So the past VS threads are gonna get locked or leave it?

Remember, the "No VS thread" simply states "expect most VS threads to be locked".

That's because there are some comparison topics that actually DO produce good discussion. Once that's gone, however, the thread will be considered for lockage.

Suffice it to know that as far as VS threads are concerned, current ones stay... new ones will locked, and the user will be suggested to make a poll, instead.

the creation of polls is really helpful.
it's easier to monitor what most of the people chose.

So anything that "produce good discussion" is good to go?

It's really up to the forums mod to deside if a thread should be locked or not...

That's really up to the people that respond to the thread. It's also the responsibility of the thread starter to make sure that they help moderate their own thread, ensuring that people post appropriately.

Anyway, this only happens once in a blue moon... as far as most VS topics are concerned, making a poll would be the better alternative.

umm just for future reference why is there a NO VS THREAD rule i rlly think my eva vs. serial experiments lain could have had some good conversation because there really deep show with alot of meaning which some people dont even understand

Many users spammed VS threads in the past with one-worded responses like "yeah!" or "no" or things like that.

Now that there's a poll feature, this can pretty much facilitate this type of discussion... however, I think Shinji should remove the extra forum aspect to the poll, since most users tend to just repeat whatever they voted in the poll in the thread... weird.

yeah see thats why i was confused cuz since you can still post in the polls isnt it still kinda the same thing as having someone just say ''yeah'' or or ''no'' retardedly as if just adding an extra to the vs. threads and even so does it really matter much

Suffice it to know that we're currently requesting shinji to update it. The polls is still (technically) a beta feature, so it's still open to changes.
