Yuki's earliest memory is of a stormy night in winter, wherein she was attacked by a vampire... And then rescued by another. Now 10 years later, Yuki Cross, the adapted daughter of the headmaster of Cross Academy, has grown up and become a guardian of the vampire race, protecting her savior, Kaname, from discovery as he leads a group of vampires at the elite boarding school. But also at her side is Zero Kiryu, a childhood friend who’s hatred for the creatures that destroyed everything he held dear, is now determined never to trust them. This coexisting arrangement seems all well and good, but have the vampires truly renounced their murderous ways, or is there a darker truth behind their actions. Is Kaname's infatuation with Yuki the beginning of a forbidden romance, or is it something in her forgotten past that draws him to her. Because in this world of secrets, nothing is as it seems. And the price of misplaced trust may even be worse than death.

Yea this is the anime description but it also works for the manga version as well. If you've read up to chapter 36(at least) then you'll find out about yuki's past. Either way this is a good manga, reasonable storyline, and although it's just a cliffhanger for the manga for now it might get better. Though there are some questions that needs answers. Such as (Warning the following questions are for those who had read to chapter 36, if u didn't read up to that point don't bother reading on....) What the hell does Rido want with Yuki? What sort of threat is Yuki to anyone? Which side will Zero choose? And other questions that I can't really think of right now.

I like reading this. But it always confuses me which is which. >__< they all look the same. i love the plotline nevertheless. I think its really interesting and unique. And for your question. erm ill say what i think.

What the hell does Rido want with Yuki?: her blood. i think?
What sort of threat is Yuki to anyone?: probably because shes a pureblood. so she should be powerful.

Who wouldn't love this???? I mean classic vampire god like characters, a non-ditzy heroin and all put in a high school! What's not to love?

i think all ur questions will be answered in the upcoming volumes. About your question, "What sort of threat is Yuki to anyone?" What made you think that?

I agree that the problem with all of the beautiful boys in this manga, they all look the same in black and white. The plot line has gotten a little confusing now too. Each volume has a lot of data, but it's so vague in explaining it. Everyone talks in complicated sentences. One day im gonna re-read from like the middle of the series to the end to try and figure out whats happening.
