Good Story, plot, and genre. If it's generic, it's out. Also, I don't like Shounen series.

For me... I would rate it like this...

1. Storyline
2. Art work
3. Genre

That's how it is for me... I mean.. if you're not interested in the storyline.. why would you read it anyways!? Aren't I right!?

yeah me too story comes first but art is a close second. Take Love Roma for example, I almost stopped reading it cause I couldn't get used to the art. It's a good thing I didn't stop.

What I think is a good manga for me is

- It has to have a good storyline. It will not stray from the storyline and even if it does, it has to be twisted and interesting
- The art has to be amazing as well. Otherwise it'll put me off which pisses me off
- The guys have to be good looking =P but i guess that falls under the category of art but i just have to state it xD
- The girls can be pretty as well. good hairstyle so i can get ideas for my hair too xD lol!

and yeah thats about it really. Good storyline and art.

The Storyline, especially quite unique ones where they give a full cover of character development and each main character's points of view instead of the male protagonist the entire astoryline.... like Kare Kano~

saves alotta time,especially when u are aiming for a long anime.. but the fun reduces as well.. but hey,there's a price for everything right?

It is all up to whether it is funny, have a decent storyline...and most importantly likable characters....

The cover art may be good, but if I flip through the pages and find that the storyline is dull, very slow-pace and not memorable characters....then I might stop reading it...I have done that...

But yes, nice art is a main factor for picking the book and reading through....(attraction for the majority of people who are blinded by nice looking art)....

Those who truly enjoys a good storyline would never judge a book purely by its art....
There are perfect manga out there, I know...(perfect art, storyline, a good sense of humour and memorable characters)...
But there are art that are not so good looking but still have all the qualities of a good manga....
