Mostly the storyline, but the art usually effects whether I read the manga or not. I often end up dropping a manga if I can't stand the art or if the storyline drags :/

sometimes it isnt always the art, usually it's the storyline that attracts me the most, because without it, the manga is just a pretty picture book xD

I'd go for the story, then the art. If the story isn't good yet the art is nice, I'd try a chapter of it, see if I'd get a hang of it or not. Then if the story is good yet the art isn't oh-so-nice, I'd still try a chapter of it, and see if I'd like it too. >.<

Genre- I only seem to read Shuojo and Josei manga lol With the exception of D.Gray-man since I love the anime. Then;
Storyline- I always read the synopsis, if it looks like it'll be a good story then I'll read it
Art- I can't stand bad art, but at first I didn't like the art in Skip Beat, but it just grew on me....I actually like it now, it's simple and the story is just too great not to read because of the art ^_^

you can finish manga fast ^_^. but with an anime you cant, you have to wait for the charater to speak. But in manga you can just read it ^_^
