I got pretty close with Godchild and Angel Sanctuary. Kaori Yuki had that affect on me apparently.

I don't remember the title of the manga I read but it had to do with a short haired girl and her calligraphy teacher (short hair, wears glasses). The girl would go to him as an escape from her problems at home. I think it was something about her step brother.. but yeah the girl would kind of go to this teacher's home to try to take her mind off of things, they would show affection towards each other but they both realize what they have going on isn't how its suppose to be. When she visits him for the last time, she finds a framed calligraphy and he was already gone and on a plane. I felt so god damn emotional right at that part..made my heart ache; she just sat there holding the one and only thing he left behind of himself and cried, and the background was just a big window with an empty sky.

I wish I could remember this manga's title.

Fullmoon wo Sagashite - Arina Tanemura.

A bit complicated but the death of Sakurai Eichi does make me cry.

Shibatora is pretty sad and kind of disturbing, as it adresses pretty hard subjects ( victims of drug consumation; prostitution, etc). the Death oh main characters comes often unexpected (a girl quits speed, goes out of prison everythings seems to be fine but she gets killed by mafia with an overdose of speed). This Manga is not that Well-known but i recommend it. It starts kinda lame but gets pretty cool soon.
