No, removing anime that is licensed is the only legal measure that is keeping cr from being sued. I think maybe if cr was able to work out an agreement with the R1 companies so that cr could have a certain amount of episodes from each licensed show, that would be good. I don't want to give the 'we should support the R1 anime industry' speech, but guess what, we should. At least, in my opinion.

Did you mean Definitely, instead of defiantly?

Anyway, CR cannot ignore licenses, as we will be in for trouble with the DMCA. If you wonder why other sites, like Veoh, can stream licensed content, it's because it has something to do with their connections. It's a little unfair, yes, but facts are facts, and we can't be stubborn and not give in to the DMCA. If not, we will be shut down, and that's that.

No, b/c the licenses are in effect due to "popular demand." Plus, shinji is prolly a damn college student, and u kno damn well that shinji would be fucking screwed if he ignored the licenses of big multi-million/multi-billion dollar production companies that wanna make sure they're getting their money's worth

Well, if Shinji got arrested or something, then who would take over Crunchyroll (Although i don't know anything about making sites and stuff)
Posted 3/7/08
NO. Otherwise Shinji will get SUED and in the end he will end up having to pay out of his pocket AND remove the licensed stuff anyways.

Well if we ignored them then you would have zero anime because CR would be sued to hell by companies. So something is better than nothing right?
