Namie Amuro

Queen of Hip-Pop 52.3 minute. The one thing that I can't stand about Namie's covers is that her covers don't reflect or represent the album as a whole very well. This cover is cool but it's from the WoWa video unlike her earlier days where her album covers were separate from her single covers and they both looked fine the majority of them anyway. Now the title of the album is actually about her as a pop icon while fully transitioning into Hip Hop/R&B music (Wiki). One can really tell her music changed because of the producers she uses now.

The look of the album was supposed to reflect off of Namie's love for The Pink Panther. If you have seen the video and the booklet inside the CD, you're see the Pink Panther and the female character named ofcourse, Namie Panther together. It's cute when they are together in the video. Thank you Wiki for the info. Idk what this album cover was about.

Short Description of the album!
I'm not going to lie. This was the first Namie album I brought and I got a good feel of it. It contains good song, nice beats, and good lyrical content.

The Feel:
More Pop elements to it but R&B dominates the whole album.

The Tracks:

Queen of Hip-Pop: Basically claiming her title as the Queen.

WANT ME, WANT ME: It’s a night of play! She even promotes safe sex!

WoWa: Everybody come along and have a good time! The video is cute as they use the Pink Panther cartoon as well as Namie, her dancers and their outfits.

I Wanna Show You My Love: This song is dedicated to her fans, telling them that she wants to perform, sing and her fans her best!

GIRL TALK: Think of Sex & The City. This is even referenced in the song.

Free: Free mind, body, and soul.

My Darling: Dedicated to her son and all of the things he’s going through…at the time anyway.

Ups & Downs: Her and one of the two producers she works with sing together about their relationship as an producer and artist. It’s sweet.

I Love You: Saying this phrase in Japanese, English, Chinese, Spanish, and French is a lot!

ALL FOR YOU: Once again, Namie kills this ballad. I really can’t explain this, you’ll have to listen to this yourself.

ALARM: A crazy stalker! ~laughs~ I really don’t get what this song is about.

No: What the title says. This song is definitely gives a reference to Destiny’s Child’s song ‘No No No.’ One will hear it more in the second part of the song.

The Lyrics:
The lyrics are pretty good on this album and of course the lyrics/verses in English are sloppy BUT better than her latest album, PLAY .

Overall:
It’s a cool album. 3- It’s Aight but I’m damn there feelin’ it- 4

I say these are the highlights of the CD…

Queen of Hip-Pop: Nice song and beat. Namie for her 15 year career has definitely been in the Pop, R&B, and yes, even Rap genre (I’ll give that review later).
WANT ME, WANT ME-Great!
WoWa-Nice.
I Wanna Show You My Love-Best song.
Free-Nice.
My Darling-Cute!*
ALL FOR YOU-Best song! Mean ballad.
No-Best song.

*My Darling is good but what keeps this song from taking it seriously is the voice of Lil’ Jon screaming all though the song…well the imitator anyway. When I first heard this song (as you will if you choose to listen to it), laughed so hard!

If one should buy or burn/download:
Again, I would say burn/download if you’ve never heard of Namie’s music. You can downlaod here:

http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-226936/Download-.html#13522689

or

http://www.imeem.com/namienewsnetwork/

Now if you’re a big fan, buy!
iTunes-Cheapest if you just want to buy the MP3 files
Amazon
CDJapan
YesAsia-Cheapest if you want to Korea version or Hong Kong/Taiwan version if the Korea version is not availible.

Album: AS I AM- Alicia Keys

The Feel
this album is one big love/hate relationship type album that can take your heart & emotions on a rollercoaster ride

Track production
i like the tracks & the range, tho all the tracks keep are relativly slow tempo... (which is norm for R&B) variation exists from lite bass bumping tracks to Alicia's piano skills... its a beautiful array of sounds, not all too similar, but not too much different

Lyrics
I'd say the songwriting is good-avrage for Aliclia Key's style

Overall
8 out of 10.... i suggest all Alicia Keys fans go buy this... but if youre like me... not a hardcore Alicia Keys fan... download... its good calming music

Her voice is very strong, lately her music has changed from how it was since she first came in, but i love her style and her unique sense of music...i would give her a 9 out 10 just because she one of a kind and pretty damn good too (not conflicting with previous review..just second opinion)

Who is Mike Jones?

Do I really need to name the artist??????

This was Mike Jones first album and from his underground work this album was much anticipated and waited for!

The Feel:
Its a nice down south feel from Texas and it introduced the SwishaHouse clique to America when he debuted. Mike Jones tries to display his lyrical and even experimental side.....from what he was like on his underground mixtapes.

The Tracks:
Mostly produced and put together by Micheal Watts the beats are indeed nice and rhythimic and they often incorporate chopped and screwed effects which sometimes are repetitive. With a recycled verse from one of Mike Jones songs........(Back Then..)and others are often a major downside to this album!

The Lyrics:
"281-330-8004", "Who? Mike Jones" or just plain "Mike Jones" are often what Mike Jones begins his songs with and then repeats them often throughout! If you didn't know the niggas name when you bought the album by track 4 you will hate and curse the day you heard "Mike Jones!" Lyrically speaking Mike Jones is mediocre he often is repetitve and has simplistic and reproduced hooks. Not to mention he actually sang a chorus, which is laughable at most, side splitting and knee slappingly horrible.

Overall:
This album was a huge dissapointment.....I was a fan before he came out with his personal album but this album made me question rap and I would even go so far as to say this album was the beginning decline of hip-hop (not Soulja Boi)! I give this one a 1 and it is infuriatingly irritating after listening to a barrage of Mike Jones saying his name the producers should have nicely asked him to stop......this seriously weakened his album and he will probably never recover.BTW if someone tried to give this album to you for free and then pay you 5 dollars to take.....leave it with them and spit on it!

i second this ratting on the artist...

How ever it was not always like this he did great freestyles when he was underground and it was hot when he was saying his name over and over for the first few underground months, and the number thing was off the charts. He use to be good tho if he went back to his original roots then maybe he could come back with some flames but as of now....i give him the same thing i would give soulja boy.... 0 out of 10

Kanye West, Akon, and will.i.am have contributed remixes to the 25th anniversary commemorative issue of Michael Jackson's classic Thriller album.

Previously unreleased tracks from Jackson himself have also been included on the disc entitled Thriller - 25th Anniversary Edition, which will be released on February 12.

West has remixed "Billie Jean," while will.i.am reworked two tracks--"The Girl Is Mine" and "P.Y.T." Meanwhile, Akon and will.i.am are both featured on "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'."

A track entitled "For All Time" which was recorded during the Thriller sessions but didn't make the album, has been mastered and mixed by Michael Jackson for the album, says Billboard.

The original "Billie Jean" demo will feature, and included in the package is a DVD featuring videos for the singles "Beat It," "Billie Jean," and the groundbreaking epic video for "Thriller."

The track listing is:

"Wanna Be Startin' Somethin"
"Baby Be Mine"
"The Girl Is Mine"
"Thriller"
"Beat It"

As for Diddy's defense (I'm still a fucking Puff Daddy fan 'til this very day), that man was never good to begin with. It just depends on which muthafucka he pays to ghostwrite his shit. On his current "Press Play" album, I heard he tried to right his own shit (look @ how that worked out........whack) and didn't hire that many ghostwriters for his fucking songs on that album. If u look @ that muthafucka's previous albums, his best albums happen to be the ones that say "P. Diddy & The Fam presents........." or "Puff Daddy & The Fam presents............" because quite frankly, any solo project Puff tries to do by himself is absolutely mediocre @ best.

Anyway, that's my lil 2 cents on Sean "Puffy" Combs

This maybe late, but...I understand you Raja. Baby Bash (no offense) is a nobody...maybe a has-been but he keeps coming back . It amazes me Everyone in a while you'll hear him singing the hook on somebody's song and then he'll go back behind the scenes. In Cali...well the Bay Area, we (except maybe the Latinos/Hispanics) don't care for him. In fact, they play his songs so much it's irritating just to hear his name and the videos-we just laugh . He's annoying and he always sings and says the same stuff, so he's not taken seriously as an artist. For now, he's on my worst list until he comes up with some better songs.
