I did that with Mamotte! Lollipop, but I ended up reading it. It was probaly because the title had "Lollipop" in it, and it sounded babyish.

Other than that, I haven't

EVERYONE judges a manga by its cover. that's often the first introduction people get to it. its the first look, and you immediately start to judge the art style, the characters, the apparent style of story, and so on.

and i'm not saying its necessarily bad, either. we do it with everything we encounter in life.
of course, that doesn't mean that it's where we have to stop either.
after we've looked at the cover, i think almost everyone flips it open to check out the inside art too. (assuming it isn't wrapped)

personally tho, i usually don't like the cover art, especially when it's a watercolor painted style.
so i rarely put much value on the judgement of the cover.

I have to admit I did to.....Although, I had to force myself to look pass the drawing style of Glass no Kamen and Itazura na kiss. It turned out in the end that I loved both story lines even though the drawing is bad. I say now it all depends on the story line

Absolutely, I never read a Manga unless the artwork is amazing.
I hate to say this, but I dislike One Piece because of that.
I mean, it's a really great story and all. The artwork doesn't impress me like Bleach or Kuroshitsuji.
*Shrugs*. I just can't get amazed by it like other fans.

Yeah ._. If it's too girly (aka to much pink) or too action-ish I usually won't read it.

I think sometimes. Kamui had some...salacious covers. I always felt a little squicky when I'd check them out at the library.

And one of the few times I bought a manga at the bookstore (instead of online) it had this author's note inside:

It's a shoujo manga, incidentally.

I think you have to, especially if you are just browsing. There are just too many titles out there, so the cover, the inside artwork, and the blurbs help me make my choice.

Yes i have, and the sad part is that some months later ive tried reading the manga, and the story line is actually epic. A good front page is really important for a manga, to get people interested in checking it out.

Oh yes, I do it all the time. I can't stand manga with terrible art. I mean, art is a big aspect of manga.

Nooo, I give the manga a chance!
As long as the story is good, I'm fine with anything.
