I almost always judge it by it's cover.........If it looks cute, I start reading it.....if it get boring drop it for a while.......and maybe restart.........I'm not that picky but I hate the Bleach Naruto One Piece Bakuman art

Well, yeah. I think that's fine with manga, though. The cover expresses what will be inside, like the mangaka's drawing style and stuff.

i avoided One Piece for the longest time because of how it looked, which i now regret, but for the most part i usually judge based on the description of the series

All the time. I like to search through manga titles online and it's just quicker to decide before opening the link if the art interests me at all.
Not to mention the fact I can pretty much spot any yaoii manga by the cover alone, helps me avoid them easily.

Oh yes, I'm guilty of this. Often when that happens, I *do* go home to read and research it online (description, reviews etc) and sometimes I do go back to it.
