yeah, i actually think it's a habit i should break though since alot of manga is really good but has less than average art

i did before. but now, i don't.
after reading Silver(Fujita Kazuko), i've been hooked onto manga drawing styles like hers. they may not be appealing to others but to me they are. the characters are mature looking, which i like and the plot is great.
Tenma no Ketsuzoku is also similar in drawing style. i love the plot as well, the romance is sweet, and the chapters so far are really great. i'd have to say these two mangas are in my top 10.

Oh yeah it is the first thing I do when I see what a manga is like, As you can almost imagine what story a manga/anime/any media product is like by looking at the cover by the generic conventions shown on the cover. A good example would be Asobi No Ikuyo Bombshells from the sky. You see the cover and there's a neko mimi cat girl with a huge bust and ass. Once you see it you instantly know it is ecchi and you can guess what it could be like from what we have seen before. At least that's how I see it.

Ugh. Who doesn't? Sometimes I look at a front cover with its horrid appeal. It hurts the eyes! Soft looks are better.

Yea, i do it all the time :)) But there's some cases where I really like the plot that the drawing doesn't really matter much. As long as it's okay, I'll read it

I DO THAT ALL THE TIME. i think it's a disappointment on my part personally...i probably missed out on a lot of good titles from here to there...
But i usually do that when i go to borders browsing for new manga or when a friend shows me one they've been reading and they said it's good...i usually look at the art and then decide on whether i read it or not...

I judge a manga by its cover, ALL THE TIME xD
But summaries are quite important too...

Yes sometimes if it looks boring I wont read, though I might give it a chance.

There are also times that I read it by looking at the cover. I remember one time I did it when I was 12-13 and bought a manga seeing as I didn´t have much time and I just bought the manga because it had an interesting cover. In the end it turned out to be a hentai manga. I wonder why it was so easily avaiable to buy from that store xD. In the end I went back and changed it for another manga. Though that was a mature manga and contained sex scenes as well, but it was about yakuza.

i look at the art and try it. if in one chapter the series can't spark my interest then i don't bother.

I do it all the time. I rely on friends and other sources to tell me if a manga is good so that I make the effort to give it a second chance.
