Major Disappointments

My biggest disappointment was that I allowed myself to give into so many temptations in college, thus resulting in my dropping out.

I had a full ride to a four-year university with an excellent GPA and ACT score and I blew houndreds of thousands of scholarship money only to find out a year later what I lost as I struggle to find a way to get my life back.

I have become bitter and a loner because of my experiences. I shut off all my old friends and have very few right now because I don't want the influence to take me over again. Stay away from fun, alcohol, and cute redheads. My only advice.

^ -looks at hair- okay, okay it's orange not red xD

I'm not sure what shutting off your friends come from you and college? o.0

No offense abel89, but you come off very narrow-minded. And in my personal opinion... you did contribute to this thread going off topic by constantly battling with those who didn't agree with your statements/opinions or those that were flaming you. You also don't have the right to judge whether or not people's disappointments are major or minor... theirs and your disappointments may differ in how "major" they may be.

Lets not flame. And yeah I have had a few major dissapointments within this month *not going to mention* And that is how the army works. they turn down the ones that want to join, and entice those of us who don't want to or don't support the military *like myself*

I personally have hatred for the military because it takes soooo much from me. too many double standards and the corruption is sickening *I made a thread about this a while ago*

you aint even old enough to be in the military so how can it be taking from you? and how would you know of any corruption of double standards in the military if you aint a part of it?oh and if you dont like us military boys or aspiring military boys, fuck off, we dont need liberals, tree-huggers, whooses and whiners like you complaining bout us all the time. and since us military boys do a job you dont have to, i suggest you shut the fuck up. you dont have to do our job so why are you bitchin?

I mean I see so many of my friend go into it and regret it. Recruiters lie to teenagers to get them to join. I know someone who went into the Air Force and became suicidal and they wouldn't let him leave until he showed that he was. Not to mention since I am 17 I get tons and tons of letters from the armed forces trying to get me to join. I respect those who join the military and fight for freedom, but if they need to leave then let them. and so what if I am liberal? Not all of us are "tree huggers" and people who whine. I am just saying, if you are old enough to join the military, then you should be old enough to drink and have all other rights. I made a thread about that though so lets keep this discussion there. Lets stay on topic and refrain from personal attacks.

be happy for your pals who are man enough to join up. what do recruiter lie about then? if everyone got to leave whenever they wanted to or needed to, we'd have no military.so what if you get lots of letters? quit whinning, jesus, you are sensitive about getting letters you dont want. most liberals whine and complain bout the way things are and most are tree huggers. liberal policy is built on inaccuracy. Equal wealth? i dont think so, equal opportunity is a much better system. since you want taxes higher for the rich, watch out, youll be payin them two so careful what you wish for...more and more people are considered rich. can you even afford to pay the taxes youre dreaming of? you guys bitched and complained in the sixties about vietnam, then they get home and you guys treat them like shit. then you deny that that happened. those are just some inaccuracies with you whinners. i am disappointed with you people.

That Christopher Nolan isn't directing any more Batman sequels in The Dark Knight trilogy. The Riddler would have been a perfect villain in that universe...

Heath Ledger dying. He was an incredible acting performance for when he was the joker. He was planned to be in The Dark Knight Rises working alongside Bane. There was so much more to come from the Dark Knight trilogy with the him as the Joker, unfortunately it wasn't meant to be.

Yeah, it would have been awesome if he was still alive, that way Bane could break out Arkham Asylum and kind of unleash the physical embodiment of Chaos back upon Gotham. In the Knightfall comics, Bane did indeed free most of Batman's enemies he put behind bars, and in the process of dealing with them and recapturing them Batman became physically and mentally exhausted, culminating in his defeat and back-breaking when he finally faced Bane.

I'll probably be trying to buy the Dark Knight trilogy collector's edition around Christmas, Blu-Ray definitely haha. Just a shame, even if Warner Bros. decide to add another movie onto the trilogy, it'll probably be another director...just won't be the same.

Well... there was that story about the blind man driving a car wasn't there?
Ah, I'm sure you'll get in... some day. If it's really that important to you.
I've only have one huge disappointment in my life.
Last year. I failed my AS Level exams.
failed.
I wouldn't have felt so crushed, but I KNOW I did well on the exams and all my other friends didn't study and got Cs, and Ds. I was allllways higher than them. We did the exams with different boards (I HATE YOU EDEXCEL!) and everyone says that my old school took the better examining board.
I was in severe depression for a month. I'd never ever failed in any exam.
Ya, only one month. The depression lasted a year though.
The fact that I failed (in life basically) and that my best friends left the country I was like... gutted. Seriously! Ah! I hate talking about it!

You too, huh? Well, I didn't fail, but in my eyes, it's about as good as...
I want to be a doctor, and med universities have really really high requirements, they're around a minimum of AAB in three subjects in your entire A levels...I just got my results the day before yesterday, and instead of my hoping for 2 As and a B, I got 1 A and 2 Bs....That may not sound so bad, but basically, I have no other redeeming qualities, and i just missed the minimum requirement by ONE MEASLY EFFING GRADE!

So, yeah, that's one major disappointment. The other would be when I got a B in AS level Biology, and still got a B, but with two marks more, when I re-sat the exam 6 months later (btw, EFF YOU EDEXCEL!)

Wait, all my big disappointments are about my grades...crap...

Also, btw, where do you live in Saudi?

I agree, completely.
An injury keeps me from serving my country. It hurts my pride to say that I'm weak. It is even more painful however to know that I'll never see the glories and honors of battle. It's almost too much of a price to pay, to have to live knowing that I'll never be able to do what I am driven to do. Though most wouldn't understand it, I take pride in my faith. And my faith drives me to be the best and only the best. And to have let down the gods is crushing.

Judge me if it pleases you.
