A Brazilian immigrant has been arrested in Massachusetts on a variety of sex charges after police said he offered alcohol, cigarettes and cash to young girls in exchange for sex.

Geraldo Reis Miranda, 22, of Marshfield, Mass., was arraigned Thursday in Plymouth District Court on more than 21 counts of various child-sex charges, the Patriot Ledger reports.

Miranda offered two girls, ages 12 and 13, booze, cigarettes and between $25 to $100 for sex acts at his apartment, MyFOXBoston.com reports.

He also made promises for up to $1,000 for sex, the Patriot Ledger reports.

At least one of the girls accepted money, cigarettes and flavored vodka and Mike's Hard Lemonade in exchange for sexual favors, the paper said.

Ok, well we know the guy is a scumbag, but trading sex for Mike's Hard Lemonade at age 12-13??? SLUT!!! That's incredibly slutty for age 12-13. You can't get much trashier than that.

Oh dear.... I blame the children's parents and the children for even accepting the offer. I mean... it's not like they were raped.. they agreed to have sex with a man to get that shit... I mean at 12, why do you need that shit? I probably will never know..

Its simple, Because she wanted to act like an idiot, so she acted like an idiot. And besides nowadays a 4 year old has more common sence that most 12 year olds, well at least more than her. But cant blame a whore for being a whore now can we ?

Wtf. Kids these days? Well, I'm also 13, so I don't have the right to say that.
But at least I'm smart enough to say no when somebody asks me to have sex with them for some Lemonade and shit.

Those kids should be taught a lesson... how can sell yourself for cigarettes and booze.
and that guy should pay big time you don't go offering those for sex and if he wants one find a prostitute thats why there one... don't victim younger girls

Well, look at what he was charged with: "Miranda was charged with child rape, indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, solicitation of sex for a fee, enticement of a child, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor..."

So not only did he get charged for rape, but he gets charged with giving kids cigarettes and alcohol. It's like he purposely tried to break every law that he possibly could. I guess about the only other thing he could have done would be to offer them cocaine or something too.

Guys like him should be charged with the death penalty

People like you should be slapped in the face with a giant bat that has "HYPOCRITE" carved into it.

Dont blame kids for being an idiot. All of us are, including smart people. She made a serious mistake, but that doesnt mean she is whore. She just problibly want to have sex because of peer pressure, and I know that many people cant stand up against it.

Punishing people on their first mistake will usually encourage them to make one again. This includes but not limited to yelling at your kids, give them a painful lecture, or just plain telling them what a dumbass they are, and spanking is out of the question. Instead parents should just give them a short warning to tell them not to do it again. If they ask for an explaintion, tell them, but dont force them to accept it. After that they are on their own. Teaching kids again and again numbs their brain and makes them forget.

So who else should we blame? Society? I doubt it. She is exposed to enough shit (The annoying PSA singing groups that should burn in hell) in schools that give her knowledge on this subject. At this point, it was her personal choice to do something that she knew about the consequences of.

O yes, because short warnings work so well. This is exactly the problem with kids today. No discipline because of too many carebears going around making it seem like kids are things that can't take a little bit of disciplinary actions. You obviously don't know how kids behave - they're stubborn and stupid and unless you give them a strict discipline, they'll lose respect for parents and adults.

the girl accepts the alcohol so she can get drunk and doesn't have to feel what he is doing to her. After that, she gets the money! LOL

I think the girls probably just wanted to do those sexual favors on their own.... I find it hard to believe the liquor was what persuaded them. Not just hard... Impossible. I know it's possible, but I so strongly disagree that that's the case that any word less than impossible isn't strong enough.

money on the other hand could be much more persuading - considering children of that age don't really have much. 100$ to them could be a fortune.

Parents aren't the cause of fault here, although they could be a leading factor. My parent's friends had a child who got into drugs and stuff... He used to be my friend but he doesn't show up at school anymore and lives on the streets. His parents were in no way bad people and I knew them very well, so if someone is going to blame parents...Well hell yeah I'm going to get pissed off at them.

A child at the age of 12 can well use their own discretion in these matter's. They aren't pure angels, contrary to what some may want to believe. It's true they aren't mature, and if they were a little older and better educated they may have chosen otherwise, there are still people who wouldn't in spite of that fact.

Well here is what ive experienced when I was younger. Back then I never did any of my homework cuz Im lazy. It became really bad when I was 12-13, when I got like a D and an F respectily. After that my parents got tired of it and just left me be. The next school year, they still yell at me, but at least didnt do anymore homework checking, watching behind my back, etc, and I started to do homework a little more each day. What my parents lacked the most in my opiinon is patients, and teaching skills, so its better for them to not to teach me at all. Everytime they do, we just get into an arguement.

So they figured to maybe just give a short warning and explaination will be enough, since Im probablly not going to listen anyways. Instaed I remember their warnings mainly due to that they dont give like 10 warnings a day telling me not to this or do that and stuff. I remember it because they give me short strait warning to me with a reason to back it up. Ofcourse I dont always accpet it, but at least it gives you an idea on what your parents are thinking and why they are sayin this.

You cant force discipline on kids. That isnt always the bestway to have them learn, or remember it. Once the disipline is lift, they go back to square one. That's why many asian parents that i know of are always so tired and angry. They enforced discipline on their kids constantly and non-stop 24/7, and one of them I know goes as far as to lock his kid in his room during bedtime, In their eyes its because kids stupid and forget easily. However in my eyes its because the kids were annoyed by you to much. People learn respect and discipline on their own with the outside world faster than at home.

I agree with you here on the other guys post. It's best get a major in university about the behavior of children before shooting off random opinions(this sounds so much like I'm a hypocrite but it sounds so good at the same time#@$!). Spoiling children may be tempting but discipline is highly necessary. As a kid I was highly obnoxious and arrogant. I was putting myself ahead of others.

Lets just say I believe that I believe that a child is born bad rather than good(as much as I may like to believe otherwise). Sure, a child is stereotyped as being innocent and pure... but there are hereditary human traits that you must discipline. It's natural to be greedy and stubborn, and parents should be disciplining their children as necessary.
