A friend of mine recently invited me to her grandfather’s funeral. I didn’t know the guy, but she wanted me there for support. I tried to support her, but the crowds were big and I couldn’t find her. In the end I got stuck at some random old dude’s funeral. I had met him once and didn’t get a good impression.

Anyway, it was an open casket thing. So I’m walking in the line, people crying, I’m freaking freaked out, and then I get there. The guy had this tiny little French mustache and a pointy little beard. I couldn’t help it. I had to laugh. I started chuckling manically and had to flee. Needless to say my friend was a bit upset with me.

It was so horrible. Once I started I began to think about how comical the situation was. Should have been in a T.V show. This only made me laugh more. It took like 45 minutes to stop. Then I had to march back out through all their eyes. This made me laugh more. My gawd!

Has this type of thing ever happened to you? When, why, ext?

It's called nervous laughter hun.
It happens to a lot of people at very inopportune times.

I was locked into a casket when i was about 9, at my father's best friend's funeral, his daughter and i went upstairs to play, we were kids we didn't know any better, and we crawled into the caskets and closed the lids... an hour later my mom finds me laughing hysterically inside a locked casket.

that's just really funny haha {i feel sorry for you in a way though}

I remember talking to my mom and I was trying to tell her what happened to my toe [it was bleeding eww] but she just could not hear me. And when she said,
"wha?!?!?!" I found her face so funny. My sisters was staring at me like I was retarted [they have no sense of humor what so ever] and every time I would look at her I would see that face...I was laughing for maybe 20 minutes straight

this happens to me a lot T_T I remember being in Spanish class with one of my close friends. And my teacher was talking about Spanish art and showed us this pic of a painting where this naked guy was eating a baby... and I started laughing and then he started laughing. My teacher asked "are you laughing? Because if you are that is really sick." My Spanish teacher is really ditzy and not very socially skilled, so I told her I thought it looked like he was eating a chicken and that is why I laughed "I know that's not funny but it was the first excuse to pop inti my head."

Oh ya, it's happened to me.
I remember it was at some funeral. I forget whose. Anyway, it was mainly women in the room and they were all crying their hearts out. I just sort of sat there (I think I was 10 or 11) and I didn't know what to do. But it seemed kinda funny for some reason. I was smart enough to get outside and start laughing my ass off.

I would’ve clawed the veins in my wrists out! O_O Trapped in a casket?! Such a closed space!? How could you breath?!

Seraph.
When i was in there, it was completely dark..
i could hear things though.
And i pictured myself actually dead.
imagined the groan of the AC was worms crawling around and trying to eat the casket
I also imagined that the satin i was laying on was a cloud.
And i thought.. this is heaven?
it was just so funny to me as a little kid that i just started laughing maniacally.
