Lucky Star portrays the lives of several school girls attending a Japanese high school with a very loose humor tone. The main heroine is Konata Izumi, an athletic and intelligent girl who, despite these attributes, is not in a sports club, and her grades remain low. Her laziness at school is due to her love for anime and video games, and is not interested in much else. The serialization began with the four main characters in their first year of high school: Konata Izumi, Kagami Hiiragi, Tsukasa Hiiragi, and Miyuki Takara. As the story progresses, they move onto their second and third year.

Originally written as a daily manga, it was eventually serialized and eventually, an anime was created based on the serialization of the manga, to which it does great justice to. The art style is very appropriate and only adds to the overall feel of each sequence. There really is no story-line per-say, as it was written as a daily comic. However, I found it to be humorous, fun and quick witted, making it overall very enjoyable. The series takes place in Kasukabe, Saitama, just north of Tokyo, to which the city if featured predominantly and accurately throughout the series. Yoshito Usui, the creator or Lucky Star, also lives in Kasukabe.

Neh, normally, even if the beginning of a show is cool or the music is good, once I see it one time, I usually just skip it and go right to the start of the episode every time there after. For Lucky Star though, I watched the beginning every time with every episode. Dont know why, I just really liked it I guess.

Well, the Anime takes the main strips of the Manga and just builds an episode around them. Thats the only difference.

i cant really finds updated series anymore so i dont really know much about this. but from what i've read in the first few chapter; i really like it. the art is still rough, but tis normal for a new series. give it a few more volume and it'll be better. and the storyline, konata is awesome; a rare sight of a not so typical anime main character = a female otaku with a doting father and their not so ordinary friends, simply awesome. but i cant shake this feeling that this series resembles azumanga daioh in almost every way (although its like reading through a mirror, everything is like almost a total opposites)

and for you who watched the anime-series until the end, you might still remember that kagami argues with an unknown person on a phone. its still a mystery until the end. many people said its her boyfriend, but i personally thought that the person on the phone is actually konata
