Does anyone know of a college in the US that features Japanese language programs, or exchanges?

You do not need to speak Japanese just to ride a Japanese made car and use a Japanese digital camera. Kampai

To learn Japanese does not mean you will be in business with the Japanese? Just to let people know you speak Japanese? It might be a preparation for you who will be diplomat someday? Would teaching Japanese be your career someday? You might want to call the Education Department and they will hand out a master list of schools that offer the Japanese courses. (The Japanese made good with cars and digital cameras and sold it worldwide... to start with)

The beginning of Japanese culture in Nara

Todai-ji the largest wooden building in the world (Nara)

In 710 the first permanent Japanese capital was set up at Nara. It witnessed the birth of Japan's arts, crafts, and literature...Buddhism also flourished, and Nara grew as the political and cultural center of the land with numerous temples, shrines, pagodas, and palaces.

many colleges in the US offer japanese courses. the question is how advanced are you going to take your japanese education? many larger universities in washingtion and california offer advanced japanese courses. other colleges usually have a 2-3 year course.
