Everybody is racist. Being brought up does that to you. People who say they aren't racist are liars. They have their own biases. They make assumptions about people. What seperates us is whether we ACT on our bias.

Err I'm Chinese and there's definitely some kind of racism/prejudice between people from mainland China and Taiwan and Hong Kong, and then even within the different mainland groups themselves... I hear it all the time..

Yeah racism is everywhere and we just have to accept that. I'm African American that is mixed with Native American and Caucasian. I still look like a black male but you can tell that I'm mixed. People in my community or at school would also make fun of me because my father is 50% black and 50% white. He looks like a white male. On top of that I speak very proper english and don't wear any fancy clothes or shoes. In the black community amoung most the of people those items are very popular and I could care less. The one thing I hate the most is being make front of because the way I speak. Sorry but I was brought up that way and I don't like sounding like an idiot. They say I'm a traitor and say I sound like a white boy. Who cares? I am who I am. Besides in this country( U.S.A) you cant be an African American male and go to a job interview sounding like a thug or speaking ebonics. I don't go with the flow and because of that I'm singled out.

I don't know if this is called racist or something, but my cousin has experienced some critism within our relatives because of her skin colour.
My cousin is Asian. Both of her parents are born from VietNam, so they're full Asians. My cousin has a pale face which looks white, big eyes and a tall nose. Her parents think it's perfect that she came out like that, and when she went to VietNam her relatives say she's lucky to have that kind of physical appearance.
But some of my aunts from here exclude her because she has really pale skin, and call her White Girl. It really angers me that they treat her different just becuase she's paler than the rest of her family. Her older sister also tells her to wear some darker foundation to make her look more Asian. She's been to VietNam for a month, and when she came back her body was tanned but her face was still pretty white. She can't change her skin colour, but her parents love her and other people do too, so she shouldn't change.

I've also noticed that Asians with smaller eyes are usually made fun of. The same goes with darker skinned Asians.

I'm Nicaraguan/Black and I try not to care about race. I know it's a hard thing to do especially me considering the negative statistics stacked against me. The only solution for me is to not worry about "Living up or not living up to stereotypes," just being true to myself and live my life. I just handle my business and take care of my responsibilities. Like any person. That simple.
