ok well in i stayed in a private school from kindergarten to 6th grade. at first i wasn't happy about going to a public school but now i'm really glad my parents made this change. in private schools, you're limited to the classes as to what you can take and you never experience different things than you would in a public school. well, the private school i went to did not have any clubs and other activities so well, the only thing i did there was go to school. :/ oh yeah, theres also less people in private schools so you have to limit yourself to meeting that certain amount of people in your class rather than meeting people from different grades

I currently go to a private school.
Do you think going to either a private or public school would affect and/or improve your education and grades?
Yes. Look at my private school, for example. All of the graduates go to univeristy. The public school kids do not alway end up in a university.
Are private schools worth paying the tuition fees?
my private school is quite expensive. I think it's worth paying the fees because it's real education we get. If it's not worth, then there wouldn't be like 200 people apply for my school every year..(only 40 get accepted)

Your grammar is pretty fucking bad for a "good" private school.

With the results of this year's A-levels (in the UK) just released on 16 August, it's sparked another debate about the increasing differences in grades produced between independent (private) schools and public schools.

For the UK, British exam boards have declared that rising A-level results are down to private schools whilst public ones fall even further behind. This means that the gap in performance is now at its widest for more than a decade.

Questions:
Did/Do you go to a private or public school?
Do you think going to either a private or public school would affect and/or improve your education and grades?
Are private schools worth paying the tuition fees?

Feel free to contribute any other viewpoints you have on this topic.

1. I attended a public highschool and now am attending a state funded university so technically its public.

2. I believe that it depends on the private school. Many of the private schools most commonly known are just raking in dough, allowing rich children to feel like they are getting an education because of they are paying tuition. Although i know that there are some here and there that actually allow children to learn better, given the smaller class sizes and the learning atmosphere. I also believe that Yale and Harvard and most of the IVY league schools are not state funded? correct me if im wrong please.

3. sometimes i start to wonder. here in the US, what they teach in highschool is hardly enough (at least i think so) to set the person right for the rest of their lives, and compulsory education ends with highschool. i believe that private schools may teach alot more, with a harder curriculum for its students, preparing them for the worst. so in short, the tuition cannot be a complete waste; public education is practically free anyway.

did you or do go to a private school: well I used to go to a private school but now I'm in a public school

Do you think going to either a private or public school would affect and/or improve your education and grades?: You know no not really but I did notice that as soon as I got to my new public school I was always asking my teachers may I do this may I do that? And I literally asked them if I could drink water, because thats what I was used to. But when i entered the public school I learned that their is such a thing as freedom, as for grades well I think that it didn't effect me, because it was always me giving the tests exams etc. so it all depend on how I do.

Are private schools worth paying the fees: well yes because private schools tend to have more technology and things then public schools for example a computer lab

Also I think public schools are better at education because when I was at my private school they made me learn everything but I never understood it. As for my public school the teachers made sure that I understand the concept of the subject.

1. Take a SSAT test.. get perfect or almost perfect.
2. An interview with a teacher
3. Write a few paragraphs on why you want to go to this school and what are your hobbies and stuff
4. A teacher interviews your parents

In my region, the public schools are usually 2 years behind in education material compared to people in the same grade in private school.

For example, a Junior in a public high school is learning material that a freshman student learns in Private high school.
