god helps those who help themselves... thats because there is no god. god is a security, thought by people to be used as an excuse or false hope. god in effect is what we call luck.. you do to god what you do to luck, blame it, rely on it

if god was proven to exist.. it would be exactly how it is now, some random guy doin nothing just being relyed on and blamed.. dont forget everything is what it is, we just give it a name, a name is nothing - just a tag

i bet you think that you know everything there is to know about the world just because you think youre high up by saying God is non-existent. well youre definitely wrong. lemme ask all the supposedly high-class, high IQ philosophy students and physcologists and all God-haters: Whats so wrong about believing in God?

free will - we have a choice, and iv chose this choise as i feel not to be tied into a phenomenon that cant be proven. to all those who believe in god: why do YOU belive in god? other than free will, id put my money on it that moer than 75% will say because they feel more secure.

it can't be proven without a doubt cuz whenever someone says God talked to them we lock him up. Look what happened to Joan of Arc

how about Abraham and Gabriel?

i was talking about an event more recent than that

i think its just what the people think.. something they can belong to.. someone who can ease their pain and sufferings.. burdens and dispairs.. honestly.. i kinda lost faith in god not long ago.. i believe, for a better future.. i must build it with my own hands.. i cant wait for this kind of miricles to happen to me.

guess what? i say i believe in Him because its easier not to believe. i do not believe myself above a divine being. you on the other hand do. you just dont wanna believe cause its easy to turn your back and say it cant exist cause i dont have everything i want and theres no proof. i say take a chance and take a chance that wont cost anyone a thing. maybe youre not manly enough to take a costfree chance.

what makes me a man is ive been made into a man and im willing to take risks, costs or no. yes you would be manly to take that chance because youre admitting a higher being than yourself exists and that you accept that. it takes real men and women to shelve their pride like that.

any god reading all this would probably either "die" of laughter or assume that his/her/their creation wasn´t worth creating.

to be honest: parts of this thread made me want to vomit.
even IN THE INTERNET there should be at LEAST some respect for other people and their religions - even if you don´t share their beliefs. if you don´t know WHAT you are criticizing, you probably SHOULDN´T criticize at all. And by the way, I´m sorry, I couldn´t bring myself to read the whole thread.
People: grow up!
I can´t bring myself to believe in anything supernatural, but that doesn´t stop me from having friends believing in various deities ("god", "allah", even wicca) - I can accept it, I can talk with them about their beliefs and it is interesting.
And as long as nobody tries to make me adopt his point of view, we get along perfectly well.
So please: Try to be a little bit more tolarant. The one thing besides intolerance I really despise are fanatists - no matter from which source their fanatism comes from.

the way i see it the problem isn't believing in god, its believing that your choices are his responsibility, i don't get people who pray to god to help or forgive them, if someone does something for you that you cant do yourself then there's no point in having it done, and if someone forgives you when you have learnt nothing from your mistake that mistake will drag you down, in fact i don't care if I'm never forgiven for my mistakes as long as i know what i did wrong and why it was wrong I'm happy.
