The reason why the first hellsing sucked, or wasn't at full potential, was because the anime didn't follow the manga which resulted in the director leaving and later creating the ovas!

Now look at Rosario and Vamp it strayed a little off course from the manga, like the ice chick coming in very early and ruby looking like a maniac, which takes allot of the fun away from the anime!

eh i guess im just a little paranoid about details.... anyways whats yal opinion on this matter!

Actually, I disliked the Hellsing manga & prefurred the 1st anime.

I hated the changed ending to Bakuretsu Hunter.

it is natural that some changes are made in the manga and the anime (even for the live action, visual novel and light novel) but 'as much as possible' they should stick to the format... a little change woulnd not be that bad as long as they didn't go astray...

well I think strayed or even different from manga is a good thing i think, since if it's the same as manga, it will become quite a spoiler since we already knew what happened. whether it will be good or bad (Kenshin taken as example, why oh why they make the 3rd season like that?) it's up to us as reader and watcher.

Yes, I hate that. Like in Mai-Hime, it was so different.

Really depends on the result. Sometimes straying from the original manga sequence/story is interesting and gives you something new to enjoy, other times it results in total disappointment - especially if it completely changes the aspect or the direction of the original story or characters. Then you're left wondering why they even bothered using the manga title because it's nothing like the manga. I've seen that happen more in live-action dramas based on manga.

it can be annoying but when i see Full metal Alchemist where Anime and Manga are so much different but nevertheless both awesome, it can be nice since you get 2 awesome storys instead of 1 :3

I think... After all, they hold the same discussion. "Why do they change the ones in the manga when it became an anime?"

I think its this way...

I read a manga and though it was damn good and check out the anime which always turns out bad.
(i.e. Suzuka, Ichigo 100%, etc.)

I watch an anime based on a manga and is really good and I don't have to read the manga since I've seen the anime.

Isn't it kinda always like that?
