my final word Shinn sucks kira could have kill shinn if he wanted except that kira NEVER aims at the pilots cop pit, so he never was actually trying to killed shinn while he was trying his best. my point shinn KNEW kiras weakness.
kira can beat shinn anyday any time

SPOILER
Actually, Kira did go for a deathblow on Shinn in a panic during that fight. Kira swung direct for the cockpit but the Impulse seperated the upper and lower sections to avoid the hit. If it would have hit, it would have likely killed him. Especially seeing as how the core deterium reactor is right behind (and slightly below) the cockpit area.

Just making that note. Kira did actually go for the kill once. Not trying to make or break any arguments in it.

Regardless, the problem with Destiny was a little known woman named Morosawa Chiaki. If Fukuda stuck with his original intent and cloned Zeta where Shinn (Kamille) replaced Kira (Amuro) it would have been ok. The series started that way, but certainly didn't end that way. Matter of fact, I don't think there was an ending to the series. Some threw up a few recycled scenes and blew up some of the mobile suits.

he wasnt going for the cockpit but trying to cut off the legs from the main body, and i think it turned out fine as it was (not very good mind u) shinn suks plain and simple and if the series went soley around him it would suk, you cant have anything in the gundam seed universe without kira kiking serious ass

I'll admit after reading the Fukuda interview on Gunota that he did not go after the cockpit, but did go for the deteurium reactor. Which might as well be the same thing because both would have killed the pilot. As 'accurate' as Kira is, his swing was way too high to be trying to go for the legs. If Impulse were in an upward thrust at the time of the swing, then possibly. But he wasn't. He was in a static stall for inertial recovery after his own swing while Freedom did the loopback and performed its own swing.

Again, I'm not defending (nor promoting) Shinn nor Kira. My concern isn't with the pilots. It's with the mobile suits.

all i'm trying to prove is that if kira really wanted to kill shinn from the START he could have done it.

Oh, I wasn't saying that wasn't a valid point. And none of my comments were really directed at you specificly. Again, I could care less about the pilots. I'm talking about the machines.

If Kira wanted Shinn dead, he could have done it any time before or after that fight easily.

It was the upgrade, so naturally it was better. The HIMAT system alone was improved greatly with the introduction of the Super DRAGOON (8-bit) system allowing 360 degree attack as opposed to 1 degree of attack. Not to mention it went from the 2 shoulder mounted plasma cannons to the 8 bits. The energy rating (in megawatts) was more than doubled respective for each side.

The ability to switch out the rail guns with the double beam rifles was a great thing for pre-phaseshift-down attack because while PS/TS/VS armor was active the railguns were only usefull for stalling out the enemies thrust momentarily.

As well, going from 1 to 2 beam rifles is great. Let alone the fact that they could be linked to create an anti-ship cannon.

The use of energy shields was a vast improvement. It didn't require a physical shield which saved weight and bulk while increasing in-flight aerodynamics. Not to mention it helped with the overall balance control of the mobile suit in tandem with the fins. Since it was running off a nuclear reactor, it didn't really have to worry about energy supplies. The shields themselves worked far better than a conventional shield without having to spend vast amounts of money, resources, and time of re-applying the anti-beam coatings after every battle.

As well as my prior point that it did have a variant version of the Akatsuki's mirror armor on the joints and hands. The skinny was that the Akatsuki would absorb and send the beam directly back to the source that it was fired from. The Strike Freedom would deflect and the beam would go in the direction that the deflection took it. They both work off similar principles.

And the addition of Variable Shift technology over the outdated Pseudo-Trans-Shift technology that Freedom was outfitted with. Though it did go to full Trans Shift at the beginning of Destiny after Freedom is destroyed at the end of the first season.

Higher output of power, higher output of speed, better sensors, way better quantum controller. Not sure how anyone could think the Freedom was better than the Strike Freedom. Except visually where I liked the overall design of Freedom over Strike Freedom.

I thought SEED was horrible. But since Tomino is sitting on his thumbs, I'll take whatever I can get as of lately.

While Marato is talking about how much SEED rips off U.C., here's the fourth opening of Gundam SEED Destiny set to the opening of the original Gundam 0079: http://youtube.com/watch?v=-iiv_eq6YLA

Well, I really don't want to compare it because it's not completely fair. It wouldn't be right to compare Wing, G, Afterwar, etc to a UC counterpart. But there are just too many similarities to ignore really in SEED and Destiny. Even Stargazer and Astray....

I could go through all of them, one by one. And if someone goads me into doing it, I'll do it.

But right now, I got work to do~
