What is better Manga or Anime?
Posted 12/19/06
this is a debate over manga and anime i didnt knwo what this is under it could of been anime but i put it under general anyway this is about what is better anime or manga?

this is my opinion:

manga

is funnyer and has better plots and also great fun to read and how the creater draws it but can be hard to folow now and again because of where teh frames are set and also what is going on .

anime

anime is clever because its clever to add colour to the manga if made from a manga and is very well presented to all the clours ect and also the voice acters can be very good even though now and again it could be shitty(voice acting)

now up to you ta debate have fun guys

Anime has a higher potential than Manga. Manga's are much easier to create since there are a lot less factors to get in your way. The author of a manga can pretty much do whatever they want. On the flip side, an anime has to fit into time slots, can have animation problems and go over budget, requires a bigger team of people which makes it more prone to losing the overall vision. If done right, a particular anime would be far superior to a manga. Incorporation of color, voices, movement and music work to enhance the experience unless there's a bad translation from the page to the screen.

When viewed as a whole, both are great; however, I think you need to look at specific titles when it comes to saying whether a manga or an anime is better.

With anime, it's really nice to finally be able to put a voice to a character you've already come to know through the manga. Seeing it in color is another plus. The downside is that, like all film adaptations of books, some details are going to be left out.

Manga is nice when it comes to details and character depth. It's easier to do that through manga rather than try and squeeze every tiny detail into an anime series, especially one that isn't that long. Legend of Basara, for example, was a great anime. However, it was only after I watched the series that I realized there are 20+ volumes. I can't even begin to fathom the amount of things that were cut in order to make a 13 episode series.

But then there are some series that weren't adapted from a manga, and some manga that weren't turned into a series. At that point it's pretty hard to decide which is better, since there's nothing to compare it to.

I likes anime better because I like watching over reading, I does read, but it's extreamly hard to impress me, but moving pictures usally catches my attention pretty easily.

Anime is better in my opinion. Why? Well for one thing it has colour, but also voice acting (when done well) the characters come alive, fight scenes are better and the characters can display a wider range of emotion.

I completely agree. So many factors are involved that it could really depend on the quality of the team involved. Although I personally think it depends on the show. I loved the Death Note Manga but I'm not really into the show. (L looks so weird to me)

I agree with BasouKazuma. It really depends on a lot of different things. And it seems to me that anime is more preferred by the majority of people because of color, motion, etc. and that's great. Though it always makes me a bit sad when a manga I've read or had been reading is turned into an anime and details are left out. Of course that's inevitable but saddening all the same.

Personally I enjoy both anime and manga but I'll always prefer manga to anime. I enjoy reading and don't watch a lot of television or movies(excluding anime and some foreign films) anyway so anime sometimes does not appeal to me as much as manga. But I enjoy seeing how they adapt the manga into an anime.

personally, i enjoy manga a little bit more than anime. however, fight scenes in manga are much better when they are animated (ex. gaara vs. rock lee, kenshin vs. enishi, recca vs. kurei)

Depends.....

Manyt times the anime could have less info than the manga (if it is both an anime or manga)

Anime has voice, and of course is moving unlike just pictures in manga, also its colored (im not talking about american cartoons just to say) and sometimes anime comes out better than the manga.. Ex. Yakitate Japan.. i saw the anime and thought it was way better than the manga visually.

Manga could be better by the fact that there is usually no fillers compared to anime (well usually) and it more detailed than anime.. Since anime is on a budget and time, they really decrease the amount of info into it.....

Overall they are both equal.....
