Things are mixed in op. Marriage and consenusal sex is not the same. And is adultery ILLEGAL? Really? Never heard anyone going down for adultery, except Clinton. What is the sentence? Anyway, allowing bigamy and polygamy is hardly the same as consenual sex. One needn't allow anyone to marry. What is the punishment for incest anyway? Well, it doesn't matter to me. I don't want to do any family member anyway.

The supreme court says a lot of things. All that decided on human, if I am excused to said it rawly, self-interested, or believed ways. However that doesn't mean it is right, morally. Supreme court is not absolute power over minds, or thoughts. It doesn't mean you have to. Besides, let me point out that was an 'if' implying how powerful self-image they have, wanting everybody to know.

WTF I am against it, this will cause a lot more troubles than someone might think. If someone is having a sexual relationship with one of his blood-related siblings...or some other close members, than the danger of them getting pregnant is there, and the possibilty of the child that will be born to end up crippled or somehow degenerated is very high. There will be more homozygotes and that means that humanity will be fucked up....No Incest please!!!! Be aware of the fact that your actions might have some serious consequences, stop being selfish! No sex with your sister, no sex with your brother, no sex with your cousin, no sex with your mother, no sex with your brother!!!
If that shit will get legalised then I want murder and some other atrocities to be legalised TOO!

Midnight: (you again apparently) it would hardly have the same consequences. A society where murder is allowed wouldn't function properly. The leaders would keep on getting killed (and in continous fashion, this would eventually be a bad thing). Everyone would be uneasy. Even if someone were to be pregnant, they could have an abortion. Besides the odds of pregnancy would be 0 within the same sex, so one could allow same sex incest then. Sex is always "dangerous" when it comes to pregnancy, diseases and simple heart failures, etc. Besides, how many do you think would do the incest rhumba? It wouldn't happen in most families, even if allowed. The impact of legalized incest versus legalized murder is on completely different scale. If incest was legal I would still feel safe walking on the street, society would continue, it wouldn't affect me even indirectly. How many people do you assume would be "lucky" if incest was allowed?

Yeah that's true, but think about the people who have hot relatives and want to have sex with them!

I have worked extensively with legal contracts and the legal language in my last job and although the legal language leaves room for interpretation, I can tell you that anyone who is attempting to use the ruling in such a way is operating under a fallacy and their logic (or should I say knowledge) is sadly wanting. Why? Because the legal system albeit imperfect is not and never will be as open-ended as people seem to want to believe. Rick Sanotorum and others who brazenly set out to misconstrue the ruling are being completely ridiculous. Legal precedent is determined on a case by case basis. Taking a ruling outside of the context of the case and applying it to all and every case involving sex is a logical and a legal fallacy.
