Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo would be the longest since it has 163 volumes with as much as 1500 chapters btw its still ongoing so it will be more than 1500

1. Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo (こちら葛飾区亀有公園前派出所?), nicknamed Kochikame (こち亀?), by Osamu Akimoto, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump, which was adapted into an anime series, produced by Studio Gallop, which was broadcast across Japan by the anime satellite television network Animax, and Fuji Television. The title literally translates to This Is the Police Station in Front of Kameari Park in Katsushika Ward. In continuous publication since 1976 with over 1500 chapters, Kochikame is the longest-running manga series in history (Golgo 13 and Doraemon [both since 1969] have been around longer, but neither has been in continuous publication). right now it's at vol. 163.
Kochikame takes place in the present day, in and around a neighborhood police station (kōban) in the downtown part of Tokyo, and revolves around the misadventures of a middle-aged cop, Kankichi Ryotsu (Ryo-san).

2. Hajime no Ippo aka Fighting spirit is at 842 chapters

3. Detective Conan aka Case Closed is at 692

I think I heard of one called Kochi Kame, it's the shortened version of its name since it's so darned long. My friend showed it to me, its about a group of Japanese police officers who work at a small police station (more like an office/box). I think it first started in the 1970's and I think it's still going on right now.

Berserk... and the anime adaption is only like... a tiny bit of the whole story. Too bad the guy died before anything could be done.
