As a Vietnamese male... I cannot understand what is behind all of this "AZN PRIDE" shit that's infected the asians in this country. I seriously don't get it... so we asians have a small average penis size... so what? That's not something to show off like a flamboyant piece of crap... So the Vietnam and China are commies... I mean.. I know it's so "amazing" (sarcasm) to have your country be communist... but why must we be so flamboyant about our race?

The many "Asianboi[number], Aznboi[number] AznGurl[Number]"s are enough to make me go "What the hell?"... this include the other "Asian" / "AZN" usernames. I'm not completely trashing the asian culture/tradition and etc... I love it. But c'mon guys, you're not amazing just because you're asian. I personally LOVE black hair on me (Also... girls stop dying your damn hairs if you're asian.. damn it. Black is the best hair color ever), but come on children and immature adults... it's not the best thing ever created. You can't be proud of samurais if you're Vietnamese, because not all asian cultures are the same. Plus, if you don't even celebrate your culture.. you have nothing to be proud of (this doesn't include when mommy forces you.)

I like being asians, but you "AZN"s take this shit too far. /RantThread

i agree. not all asian cultures are the same.

got off topic there. maybe it would be wiser to be proud of your accomplishments than your continent's?

im a filipino and im glad to be one.

I believe Asians are proud because of their morale's and standards, for which in such I respect and hold them in high regards.

Most of the older generations of Asians I've met treat others with a very vast amount of respect and care.

Edit: However I agree that they shouldn't post AZN in front of their names.

when i was in middle school i did the whole azn thing because i grew up in a white dominated school/neighborhood that looked down on people that were different that them. I always tried to fit in and become more white because i thought thats what i had to do in order for people to like me or to start like myself.

then i found out about the whole asian pride thing. that i should be proud of my own heritage and i shouldnt try to abandon it just so i can fit in with other people. i felt cheated that the entire time i was led to believe that i needed to become more white in order to fit in. thats when i said "screw these other people, i'm asian and i'm going to be proud of it." then i found other asians who felt the same way and together we were able to establish and promote our own group identity that we could enjoy and be proud of.

if you have to ask yourself "why azn pride," then just stop while you're ahead, since you've never understood the true hardships and struggles of the people that proclaim it.

LOL The only people that I've seen with this problem are Viets. Koreans go through this throughout school and then after that get over it. Chinese... bleh I've never seen them spout azn pride shit except over the internet.

Only people who aren't defensive about their race is probably Mexicans or White people. Black people also get very defensive. Shout Nigger around a bunch of blacks and see how happy they get.

I agree with you here. I think the Viets somehow have an inferiority complex and try to compensate. Korea has the dramas, Japan has the anime among other things, Chinese has the whole dominating culture that they influenced the whole region, Viets ... well....ummm...

I agree about some of the Vietnamese having an inferiority complex. My mother in law is SO embarrassed about being Vietnamese....apologetic all the time..She basically thinks Vietnamese way of doing stuff is backward, and the right way is the American way (custom). I feel sorry for her poor husband, she's always berating him for speaking with a strong Vietnamese accent and making mistakes when he speaks English. I'm like WTF? He's a nice guy, understandable enough, what the hell is wrong with having an accent? It doesn't mean you're stupid or anything.

Oh, and what do the Vietnamese got that's good? Beautiful traditional clothing, good food, good music, and good looking people......not to mention they're good at fighting.......remember, no country had ever outright beaten the U.S. in war until Vietnam, and no country has since. I have no clue why they have an inferiority complex.

If there is one thing I've learned about Asian people, it is that they are just the same as everybody else. Don't believe that stereotypical crap about "all" Asians being honorable, moral, etc. Everybody is an individual and every individual is different. You don't actually believe they all know martial arts too do you?.......

I don't know. Is it really "race pride", or is it "culture pride"? The way I see it, it depends what group of people you're talking about. For some it's about race, for some, it's their culture....

"I could never understand ethnic or national pride. Because to me, pride should be reserved for something you achieve or attain on your own, not something that happens by accident of birth. Being Irish isn't a skill, it's a genetic accident. You wouldn't say 'I'm proud to be 5'11'. Or 'I'm proud to have a predisposition to colon cancer'. So why would you be proud to be Irish, or proud to be Italian or American or anything. Hey, if you're happy with it, that's fine. Do that, put that on your car, 'Happy to be an American'. Be happy, don't be proud. There's too much pride as it is. 'Pride goeth before a fall.' Never forget proverbs." - George Carlin

I agree with that, I'm speaking from the ones I've met in person outside of a business environment. That, and I had a long talk with one. Although I do not expect all of them to be like him, but that is what he told me their standards are like in Japan.

Edit: He isn't actually the only one, I've had over 4 separate Japanese who originally lived in Japan tell me that. I'm not going by off of what I see on TV, or what everyone makes them out to be. I'm going by what the ones I've met have told me.
