It's better this way. At least people who can't buy these manga in their respective countries will be able to read them. And most licensed manga by the way are really good so it is more beneficial for the author because more people will be able to read them.

Well, first of all. I think it's all in Shinji's hands to decide if he keeps the manga's or not (and as far as I know he decided to not keep them). Crunchyroll might be banned if companies find out Crunchyroll is hosting licensed manga (the same goes for drama's and anime).

Secondly, the thing about buying manga. I do very much agree on spending money on them for the artist. But the thing I don't agree with is that the artist isn't earning much. The money paid for the manga's will go to the company that bought the rights for the manga. There are cases where the artist/creator of the manga won't get a dime from the sales of the manga's after it's been bought by a licensing company. And if they do earn some money, it's most of the time a meager part of the profits.

It's even worse with the anime. The animation studio that creates the anime series we love, earn absolutely NOTHING, after the series are bought and licensed by companies. The company gets all the money that is earned by selling the anime here in the west, the animation studio gets nill of the profits.

That's why I'm seriously against licensing animes, I find that the animation studies should earn there part.
And I myself buy my manga's (exceptions for a few) in the hope the artist will make some money to continue living and drawing.

My point is: Don't complain about Crunchyroll! Shinji's doing everything he can, but there are limits to everything. If he keeps on hosting licensed anime/manga/drama. The site will get complaints from companies and might get forced to be shut down or worse the site will be prosecuted for breaking copyright laws.

Crunchyroll is an amazing site and I would like it to stay here for a long time.

I don't think manga makes nearly the income that anime has been and the companies that license them could care less.
Of course I could be wrong, thats just a guess.

It's not allowed. That's one of the reasons why the Manga section was closed.
