I have 2 more things to say/points to make.

You know, I really couldn't care less if the American Anime Industry falls apart and is destroyed. I know, dubs may sometimes suck, but they are important and the only way 90% of americans learn about new and different anime.
Well, I don't care. I'm selfish. It's all about me.
Personally, I learn about and watch anime as it comes out in Japan, as I am sure most of you do as well.
So, this doesn't really phase me much, I'm getting it directly from the country of origin, which is legal, by the way, until they bring it here.
There was something about their tone as well that I didn't like.
They made it seem like if the US anime market loses money because less people are buying their DVDs, then there will be no more anime and they are doing this for the fans to try and save the anime culture.
Which is BS, as we all know. They don't even make the anime, they just voice over it in another language. If the US anime market suffers from little profit, it will have no effect on the Japanese market, which is where anime really shines and comes from in the first place.

Besides, maybe if they want us to buy the DVDs, they will stop ripping us off.
Does anyone realize how seriously cheap it is for them to give us 4 episodes and call it a DVD and make us pay $20-30 for it?
I've bought full-season 24 episode DVDs for other live-action TV shows for about $50-60. That will only buy me 8 episodes in the anime DVD world. I'll have to pay around $200 if I want the whole series.
That is ridiculous, and that is why we download and stream even if it is available on DVD.

Like I said before, I do support the buying of the DVD. I do it for shows I like and suggest you do the same.
But until they stop ripping us off, I can't really argue against those that don't.
It's just another example of greedy marketing.

i think this guy is amazingly right and i cant add anything more

According to this and other websites, crunchyroll has recieved US$4.05 million in investment/funding by a company named Venrock who sort of help entrepreneurs and stuff ^_^

I've been reading up a lot about this topic and crucnhy...I suggest you do so too, it's very interesting and I'm not sure which side I'm on....crunchy's and other streaming sites or funimation..bandai etc(I can't believe I said that..I don't like funi but they do have a point)
But then again, the american dvd anime business is really ripping people off.....it's one of the reasons I don't buy anime dvd's
I hire them for $2.99 for 1 week at my local video store which has a wide selction of them ^_^

I'm still an avid non paying crucnhy loving leecher xD and I shall stay that way for a while xD

even if were are illegal watching anime we have our reasons. mine is that watching anime could get expensive, the dubs are crap so im not ever going to buy them ever, i speak japanese so watching them in that language is good practice, i don't want to wait forever for dvd's to come out, and america doesn't license every thing so good stuff gets missed. this declaration is shit and i'm not willing to comply with their stupidty and greed those selfish american bastards. plus regard less of wtf they do online anime won't suffer that much; finding it will just get harder.

if worst come to worst we could always pay CR to pay those losers to eff off.

lolz dude ur here =.="~ u nvr respond GB de hahas anyways
Yepyep it sucks ALOT lolz better than animator's quitting or losing their jobs due to insufficient funds and anime like naruto/bleach would just stop as a cliffhanger at the current episode ~___~ and discourage future animators from coming up with new animes since it's not profitable ~___~

Bottom line:Licensing sucks but deal with it ~___~ there are other unlicensed and good anime ~___~ or licensed anime but just not licensed on CR yet ~___~

i would buy anime if they dun sell it at such ridiculous price...They are too greedy....they can sell it at 60% and still made a huge profit...everything is so overprice...$29.99 for a dvd that have 3 episodes......american movies dvd is different b/c it took a huge budget to make it.....if it is a series it is like ten dollar or 8 dollar for a dvd with three episodes or more......can u imagine a series for 49 episode..and there are lot of anime more than that.....u will go broke just to buy a frigging series...i suggest..lower the price and it will increase the quanity sold....
