^ I think they're just trying to make it easier to read. That is, if this is an accurate version, not some spin off of the people in the bible. It's easier to get into manga. Like in Dragon Zakura, where the lawyer used manga to teach about Japanese history. It's the same thing.

Yeah same here, I think that too. Not a bad idea actually. Glad people are giving it thought. It may make people who are into manga, interested in the Bible. I would read it lol. There's so many fun, amazing stories in the Bible too. And most people don't even try reading it. Depends if it's accurate though.

I think its not a bad idea... since many people are attracted to manga this will help many people (like people in the other religions or people who are christians but dosen`t know anything about the bible or whoever...) to be able to know the bible even a little... I am a catholic and I think it does teach something.. like values and stuff... I personally learned many things from the bible because of my teachers but I also really didn`t like to read the bible..because it was too long and full of words...i just read the few of it in our classes... i think this will make people enjoy more because I think many people enjoy reading manga/comics/books with drawings rather than a book full of words only.... anyway [email protected] like to take a look at it... does it sell in Japan? because I haven`t seen it yet...

That's pretty difficult cause there will be tons of new manga being churn out every day or week

I completely agree. I don't see anything useful will come out of this discussion too.

Wouldn't just be easier to go to a church and do that? I mean a Manga bible, you got to admit that idea is out of the box no less, but can anyone REALLY imagine any real lessons coming out the series?

Especially if there were some Japanese refences in the manga as well, that would be too much to bare for any Chruch goer.

see, the point is to tell all the non-christian people about jesus. oddly, they don't seem to go to church. so christians are always looking for new and exciting ways to tell people about their wonderful religion. they see that manga is popular among young people, so it's not too surprising that they would use this as a means as well. it's not meant as a substitute, they're just trying to expose people to christianity through it.

that and provide an alternative to secular manga for christians. i wasn't allowed to read comic books growing up, so i'm all too well aware of that side of the fence.

However the question lies on whether or not we use a secular method to introduce them to a non-secular purpose? I've seen the manga bible on bookstores before. I'm not impressed.. I looked at the inside, and I can't help wondering... Isn't this manga (or bible, whatever... regardless of the title I still don't think they could make the bible into a manga) an interpretation of a single person based on the bible? Wouldn't it be more misleading and inaccurate? Since a bible is the guidance of all things Christian, isn't it dangerous if we're building a new generation of Christians on the wrong ground?

Well anyway, bottom line is, I don't think this manga bible is a good idea, nor is the usage of 'bible' in the title. I know they made all sorts of bible versions (king james, new king james, international, etc) but depicting the bible in pictures are just not very accurate.

great...if only they used that bible when I went to Catholic School....then maybe I would have paid attention during religion class haha...

okay... what about the woman in the upper left, i thought the church was against that little clothing, I'm beginning to wonder if this is more commercially oriented or more religious, have they ever came out with a "commercialized" bible?<---- see one question mark! see!

maria magdalena was a prostitute, so thats why the little clothe... but again the bible on manga its a good ideia its a way of briging religion to our time children... for instance i went to school to learn things about god and jesus and stuff, but in other hand my sister never wanted to learn or go to the same religion school. even if people dont want to religion does part of our story and i think its worth to know somehow.. if people will read this manga its a good ideia
