Here is a question that I have for the FAQ that maybe one of you staff members can help me with. Because, I am sad about this event.

What do you do when you donated, but you didn't get your star?

Because I donated 10 minutes ago and it still has not updated my status. I won't stop donating unless, this situation is not resolved. Which is strange considering that it used to automatically update instantly. Maybe because it's Labor Day?

^ Well, I see your star and your September badge, so I think your status got updated.

Remember, there is a 24 hour grace period before you can complain of an account that failed to update to supporter status.

With regard to the discrepancy in the time it takes to update a profile to supporter status between now and before, the delay may be due to server maintenance that is currently causing slight problems around the site. Rest assured that this is only temporary, and will be resolved ASAP.

If in any case your account fails to update beyond the 24 hours grace period, PM Shinji with the appropriate message topic (e.g. Supporter Status).

EDIT: I forgot to add, the grace period is different depending on whether or not you donated via PayPal or Snail Mail. If you donated via PayPal, your account should be upgraded within 24 hours. If you donated via Snail Mail, expect your account to be upgraded within a week (it's snail mail, what do you expect...).

Well, it obviously is a "Asian" video but, they take up alot of bandwidth on crunchyroll, restricting features on the website (ex: Bandwidth Limit Exceeded on Videos). An AMV is a simple slideshow, possibly with chat bubbles and 99% of the time they have music recorded with the slideshow. We should stick with anime and phase out all AMV's [Anime Music Videos] for a crunchier experience.

Well...AMVs are "Anime Music Videos", so I think they count as "Asian" videos.

^ Shinji allows them on the site as a member feature, so expect them to stay. And even though I'm one to think they're rather pointless, some people actually enjoy watching AMVs, so it would be quite unfair if they were scrapped altogether, especially if you were the one who uploaded it.

@ CocoSage: Upload an image where? If you're referring to your avatar, open your Account Settings and click on the buttons to upload an avatar. Observe the 3MB limit, and keep your avie to JPEG or GIF format (PNG may work).

If you want to upload photos, simply click the Photos link of your profile and add your pictures.

If you want to post pictures in your profile or forum posts, upload the picture on a photo hosting service, like photobucket, and copy the IMG code and paste it in your About me section, or in forum posts.

Umm... this might be kinda random but,
I always wondered what the crunchyroll Icon/logo
was, It is just a random orange dot of excellence,
or an eggroll or something XD it would be interesting
if you could put that as one of the FAQ's lol

thanks in advance

^ It's a typical california maki roll that is deep fried, usually with batter to give it a crispy exterior, hence the term "crunchy roll". I've had some in the past, and it's actually quite good.

I believe shinji shared the meaning of the logo in a thread where members actually asked what the logo was. He said it's the center of this "crunchy roll".

9A : How can I make a cool profile with pictures?
It's easy! You just have to be creative and remember that all the forum options (Images, Hyperlinks, Smiles) work in your profile. You can customize it however you want but remember you can only use the BBCodes available to you and not HTML!

nyah, I've tried to fix my profile with pictures and stuff, but for some reason like half of it gets deleted after I press "update" *_* wtf? :_: Am I doing this wrong? How can I fix this? o.O

^ Make sure you're not exceeding the 2000 character limit for your profile. Inserting pictures can eat up a lot of characters since they not only have the BB code, but an image source code as well.

Editing your profile in a word processor that can count the number of characters (including spaces and paragraph breaks) may be useful in determining whether or not you've exceeded your 2000 character limit.

7A : My account disappeared! What happened?
Here at CR we have a set of rules you HAVE to follow. Do so and we (the mods) will be your best friends. But if you break them too much we turn evil and may delete your account. The best way to keep the mods happy is to read the rules here:

I went to check out that link but it's not showing up, it says that information has been removed....so maybe that should be updated please so I can find the right info?

@ chorusofchaos: Thanks for the heads-up. That thread has to be "re-created" every time a spammer tries to post on it. The link was that to the older version that was deleted. Here's the link to the updated version, and I'll update the FAQ as well:

http://www.crunchyroll.com/showforumtopic?id=13504

@ greendayz: there is no current way to know if someone is online, but many users would opt to placing an [online] indicator in their location, or similar information in the headline of their profile for the benefit of users who would like to know whether or not they are online.

~Upload Question~

Usually, when I start uploading, the maximum speed I can upload is about 37-41kb/s per upload. And if I start another upload, both of them will become 15kb/s(Btw, I'm using Bell's high speed internet). So when I look at the recent anime sections, I usually see the latest animes uploaded by skipper5 or suicider in a row on the recent anime uploads.

So my question is: are there another way to make my upload speed faster?
