~Upload Question~

Usually, when I start uploading, the maximum speed I can upload is about 37-41kb/s per upload. And if I start another upload, both of them will become 15kb/s(Btw, I'm using Bell's high speed internet). So when I look at the recent anime sections, I usually see the latest animes uploaded by skipper5 or suicider in a row on the recent anime uploads.

So my question is: are there another way to make my upload speed faster?

ahhahah NO they r able to mlit-upload cuz they have fast connections like 3mit or T1, etc. U prolly have DSL so u wont be able to beat them unless u can download it in 5 minutes and upload @ 60-85 kbs/s. Or u can get really lucky and beat them cuz they are not always on....

@ Akatsuki: Soko's right. You're at the mercy of your internet connection speed, or better yet, the bandwidth of your internet connection. Think of it as a "pipe" where data is transferred through the internet, pretty much like how water moves through a pipe. The bigger your pipe, the more information you can send at a given amount of time.

Notice how your upload speed is halved when you're uploading 2 different items. That's because you're bandwidth can only support up to around 30 kbps of data transfer. If it has to do a simultaneous load, it will half the upload speeds of each file being transferred (notice that 15 + 15 = 30 kbps).

^ Shinji wanted to put some focus on the CR community as well, and not simply the videos. As you can see, it's still evolving, as Shinji put up a featured media panel along to lessen the text of the home page.

^ Please read the first post:

1A : What's a CR point?
CR points are a variation on a 'post count'. The more you interact with this site, the more points you get. How many CR points you gain depends on your actions. To see a current breakdown of how many CR points you get per post/PM/GB/Upload/etc. Click your username at the top right corner of the screen. Then in the 'Account Status' box click the Question mark next to your CR point number.

Be warned, you can loose CR points if a Mod deletes a post you made in the forum or a video comment. Also if a mod removes your avatar or pictures from your profile.

2A : What's a badge?
Badges are our way of showing everyone that YOU support our site. Every time you donate, you will receive the current months badge in your profile.

^-^ There's more information on points through the link 'cr points' at the bottom of the page.

Please one of the mods delete my account. I want to make a new one but I don't want to get caught for having lots of accounts.

^ If you want your account deleted then just PM one of the forum mods and they'll delete it for you. Please don't create lots of accounts though. ^^

~Upload Question~

When I uploaded my AMV which was made with Windows Movie Maker the status was "could not encode - the file is incomplete or used some weird encoder! it can't be used, please delete it or i will =("

Does this have any thing to do with the program or the fact I didn't use an encoder if it's the encoder could you reccomend one please

^ the .wmv format is not compatible with the encoder that CR uses. Please convert your video to a different format, preferrably .mov, .avi, or .mkv.

You can check for video converters easily by googling for them.

I have a question to ask. I know it doesn't cover anything in the FAQ, but I'll ask it anyway; Why do I hear a strange distortion sound everytime I load a video on this site?

^ Do you mean a strange whistling noise that is audible when a video plays? A similar complaint has been reported by another user, and I suggested several things.

1. if you're using headphones or earphones to listen to the audio, try change them and see if the sound persists. If you're using speakers, try switch to headphone or another sound source.

2. Check and see if your flash player plug-in is up to date. If it isn't, download the latest version from http://www.adobe.com.

3. Check and see if the equalizer settings of your sound preferences has not been changed. If possible, try and see if reducing the level of the treble will help in decreasing the high frequency noise.
