I don't know anymore, what is obscure, any of those?

The few songs I've heard from Ratatat are great. I must get more...

Is Balkandji obscure? Someone let me know about that... And also about
Umbra Et Imago
Gotye
Zoviet France
Lindstrøm
Ne Zhdali
Pop the Fish

Quickly looking at my music I have a few that might be considered obscure...

The Mountian Goats
Fuck on the Beach
Merzbow
The Gerogerigegege
The Protomen
The Field
Tub Ring
The Knife

Not really sure how many of those people would be considered obscure though....

...Silver Ash is a Chinese band.

I wouldn't really consider many of those bands to be obscure. Obviously people who don't listen to Jrock aren't going to know who they are, but, for Jrock fans, many of the bands you listed are well-known.

well they are still consider Vk in my book haha
well i wanna spread the Jrockness somehow haha

30 Seconds To Mars, Alexisonfire, Armor for Sleep, Anberlin, A Skylit Drive, Conway, Dallas Green, Dredg, District, Funeral for a Friend, Emery, Foo Fighters, Hiding With Girls, Ronnie Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, John Frusciante, John Mayer, Just Surrender, Key to Arson, Lostprophets, Meg & Dia, Mugshot, Muse, Ten Second Epic, The Blackout, Taking Back Sunday, The Outline, The Spill Canvas

Yes I know some of these are known artists, but I can ensure you most of these are GOOD (if you like this type of music)

There are also bands listed here that no longer exist, which makes them extra special if you can find it: District (Hiding With Girls), Mugshot, Conway, Key to Arson.

The Fake Accents: Anyone who likes late 80s New Zealand indie bands will dig on these DC dudes, according to the Washington Post. Their MySpace has some older songs (the new ones are soon to be recorded). "St. Agnes" is my personal fave, but "Japanese B-Side" is a close runner-up.

Jenny Choi: A cool asian chick. Her solo CD "Postcard Stories" was super-super love for me. She's now in a band called Sanawon. They're alright.

The Ray: A korean R&B singer. I haven't found anything about him online using English search engines and don't speak Korean. Thus, I know nothing about him. I do, however, think that the song "Cleaning" is pretty damn moving and has an equally bittersweet video to go with it.

D'mite: A 'consciousness' type rapper. I generally avoid any especially political music. However, "Read A Book, Nigga" is a really worth exception. Plus, A FIFTH OF BEETHOVEN?!!!!!!

Blanket Music: The name pretty much explains the band's aesthetic. Like sleepy, twinkly, fuzzy music? You'll like this. Personal fave is "Hips".

check em out they rock!

Some of the bands you listed are awesome, although I don't think most of them could be called obscure. Anyway, I'm especially fond of Suicide Ali, I hope they'll get around to making an mv soon and become less obscure. Oh and I love Exosist by the Candy Spooky Theater.

I completely agree - especially when you take into account the bands some of them have previously been in: Psycho le Cemu, COЯE THE CHILD, Kagerou, etc.
